Here is PHASE 4.
1954 Bowman Complete Set in VG++/EX Condition. Some Cards may be a little better some may be a little worse. The highlights of this set are a PSA 4 Mantle and PSA 3 Mays. I have taken photos of each and every card front and back!
NO IDEA WHY SOME OF THE SCANS ARE COMING OUT WITH LINES! I TOOK 2 HOURS ON THIS SO I AM GONNA LEAVE IT AS IS. If you need another scan more clear I will take it for you.
Let’s make a deal!

You may just have broken the record for a post consuming the most real estate, although one of The Stache's statistical analyses may be close.

Default Trade Up ?

So I check this thread from time to time mostly because I recall a past "trade up" thread that the guy eventually turned into a 52 mantle. If I`m understanding the process correctly sir, you traded the T206 Red Cobb for the 54 Bowman set and are moving on to the next phase ? Good luck as the 54 set looks nice.

Default Moon Note

This set should appeal to all the "Memo Luna" collectors on the Forum.

Yeah, I thought the point of this thread was to document the details of each trade on your journey. I'm curious to know if you really straight up traded the Cobb for the Bowman set. Seems pretty lopsided, but I guess anything's possible.

With the multiple cards it's way too hard to follow, and stuff just appears out of nowhere with no indication what the trade (or purchase?) was. I think you should just have a thread documenting each step of the trade up, or phase as you like to call it, and move the rest to the BST.

I am so confused as to what you mean. I have documented each phase deal by deal in the first post.

I just realized that he has been updating post #1. Kind of feels like, as Peter suggests, the sales can go on BST. You can continue to update post #1 and bump it as you go.

I didn't realize it either until just now, but yeah I think it would be better that way.

I see. Post #1 has all the info I want/need. I will ignore the other 400 posts going forward.

Not saying it didn't happen, but I still find it hard to believe there are guys willing trade a $2500 set for a $1k card. Most guys I trade with scrap for every dollar. Congrats on a hell of a trade.

Yea I traded with a member here who I have done deals with before and who actually is cool as heck. He came to me with the deal as we tried working out a deal on the cobb a month ago, but the pieces didn't fit at the time. Everyone has their own reasons for trading, but honestly that Cobb was a hell of a 1.

Please refer to posts 401-404 for photos of the newly acquired 1954 Bowman set I have available for trade.

I just wish I would have known I could trade my Red Cobb for a complete 54 VG (w/Mantle PSA 4) Bowman set.
I am so confused.

Don't know if you don't try. Squeaky wheel gets the grease and so on. I think that trade shows the people who initially attacked this concept that you can get more value-wise for one better piece. The guy who traded the set probably didn't feel like selling off a bunch of cards and just wanted a good card in exchange. Win-win.

Except that he could have traded the set for a much better single card, without much effort, probably.

Stephen, I may have missed it but are you only trading the set as a whole or are individual cards in play? Thanks.

Congrats on that trade. I think you did very well. I figure you doubled your value from the Cobb to the set (especially the Mantle, very nice 4). I have a couple questions, what kind of Mantle are you hoping to end with? If graded, what grade? If ungraded, what aspects are you most interested in (centering, creases, corners, registration?). Also, if you don't mind, what price point do you hope to be at finally? I love this thread and enjoy it more now that I know you are keeping track in the first post. More power to you man, I hope you get what you want when it's all said and done.

Exactly. I traded the set for the Cobb. I didn't have much in it so I'm perfectly happy with the trade. Good luck Stephen!

As one of the participants in this trade-up endeavor (I got the Ruth for all those T206s), I really enjoy watching the progress. I imagine that you're at least 1/2-way there, Stephen.

I couldn't do it. It was too time consuming haha

It ended with that set. It has been consigned to Heritage. It was a mini trade up BUT maybe I'll start from scratch in the new year as it was fun dealing with people.

Take the $$ from the set and bid on another card in the auction. Just stay under budget and use that as trade. Just a suggestion.

Is your consignment at HA active and closing in 25 days, or is it still waiting to be listed? Just curious, it would be interesting to see what it goes for.
