I am starting work on the Wolverine set. A postally used Cobb finished up on Ebay about a month ago. As I recall, it was an estate find. I believe it went for around $400.00.

In regard to the scar... it could have been the result of his encounter with his teammate Charles Schmidt. The story goes that while new to the team Cobb made the mistake of getting into an altercation with teammate (and tough-guy) Charles Schmidt -- Cobb lost.

. . . on eBay, along with 10 or 11 other Tiger ballplayers from the 1907 Wolverine News postcard set. This Cobb too is postally used, with some writing at the bottom of the image.

Jeff,

I just stepped out of my time machine. I went back to yesterday and called dibs. So sorry.

I'm sure the seller is reading this thread and licking his chops.

The Cobb Wolverines are great cards, but I'd much rather have an M101-3 Sporting News Gregg, or Johnson/Street postcard. Therefore, I will pass on the Cobby.
