Is this real or fake. I would like any opinions as I have read a lot about these.

Google is a magical thing, if you did a little searching you would have found an image of a real one like this (not my card, I wish it was!)

Default My Vote

In the spirit of Election Day I will vote fake.

I don't like the overall look and quality.

I just checked images of a couple dozen other examples of this card and none of them have on the left and right sides those lines of background color that go from his shoulder down to the black of the name plate.

Even in Poor condition that is a $400-$500 card. If you paid $210 than that is a too good to be true price. I would get your money back.

I think that the wear pattern on card back screams fake.

Looks like a tea soak to me and the print clarity seems fuzzy, voting no good.

Sorry.

Be careful...in certain states it is illegal to drive while photographing vintage cards.

Not an expert, but here is my expert opinion...it does look off to me. Pete offers a good reason why this is likely fake.

And never be afraid to remove a card from the holder. That way you can do a sniff test, and any card will photograph better too.

Brian

Brian
What if you are photographing new cards that are made to look like vintage cards?
