The flip flops beneath the last sign belonged to the last photographer to turn his back to the statue.

I vaguely remember a wrestler whose ring name was

AL "THE MAN O' OMAN"

Cannot remember his last name though.

Vacationing in Maine, visiting our Daughter and Grandson last week. Sailed out to Monhegan Island.... 13 nautical miles off the coast of Maine.
Yes, this Island is actually in International Waters. Sailed out of Port Clyde (Marshall Point). Arrived on Monhegan Island approx. an hour later.

View of Monhegan village from Lighthouse hill.

Al,

I'm giving Ted full credit.

I see a "stone" in his picture, he sailed to get there and ended up in no man's land.

Great Al.

Frank---we may need another thread on around the world under the sea

Caymans

Nuka Hiva, which is in Polynesia is in the Marquesas group as opposed to Tahiti in the Windward group. I have to look back at Tahiti to see if we have photos from Bora Bora and Morea, by far the best of Polynesia

Nope. Since I retired I got rid of every suit I owned but for 2, one for weddings and one for funerals, and do not take either with me when I travel. I had to sneak into this place to get a look. Regent has an outing there when we go but I just do not dress up anymore.

Great place to walk about, if you do not mind steep hills, with great views everywhere...unless you arrive shortly before or after the race, then it is a mess

I think I can see you about thirty stories up in the left-most tower.

Default Oh boy!

Huzzah! I can play again. One of these days I am going to learn how to scan and post pictures.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon to Madeira. As I am a lover, and mass-murderer of orchids, I could not help buying some of the beautiful offerings. I also was intrigued by, but did not surf, one of the world's "secret" surf spots called Jardin Du Mar.

I'm going to follow it up with a tough one, just to get it out of the way.

Syria.

Tony,

No country is too tough for Al. If he hasn’t been to Aleppo, he’s probably already booked a flight.

Default Onward!

Per the rules, I can now follow myself up. Might as well travel just a little way and cross off another tough one.

Lebanon.

Lived there in 1979/1980 until evacuated at the start of the civil war. My memories of it are actually quite nice, but when you're 7/8 you don't think of politics and religion, only other kids and fun things to do.

I remember spotty memories: The toy store that had GI Joe figures and the British equivalent of Matchbox cars (they were olive green military vehicles), the smell of orange in the air by the Mediterranean on AUB's campus. The Banyan trees. And the fact they have almost as many different words/types of yogurt as Eskimos have words for snow. I also remember Rin Tin Tin and Asterix the Gaul for some reason.

Anyway, Lebanon.

Default And on

I'm just going to keep filling in what holes I can. Since its' seven days later I will add another tough one.

El Salvador.

I did not get thrown in jail in El Salvador, unlike Honduras, so my short time there did have that going for it. We did pay some guy with an automatic weapon money to let us park our van and sleep outside his gas station in San Salvador, though.

Default And again

I'm being dogged here, and since its' been seven days I will bring it back to good old Europe and add:

Switzerland.

One of my favorite memories was watching a Japanese tourist fall into the water on the infamous "Bridge of Selfies" in Lucerne.

Certainly someone can work with that?

Al, you might want to review your itinerary and flights. It looks like you are spending 27 nights in just 24 days.

I guess that’s why Africa is the “dark” continent.

Leave 8-6 and return 9-6. Ironically, since we are flying Emirates, the first night we end up in Dubai for the 4th time. We used to have a development office there in my working days. I always though it would be fun to open up a Card Souk next to the Gold Souk there .
