Hello all, I recently aquired a PC799 of Heanie Groh and had a few questions. I researched them from Old Cardboard and Frank's site, Century Old Cards, but I still really couldn't come up with a level of scarcity for them. I haven't ever really hunted for one so my question is how often do they turn up and how tough would you say they are. Also if anyone could shed some extra light on them that would be great ! Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't call them rare but they don't show up on ebay everyday either. Decent condition cards will typically get between $50 to $100 depending upon how badly two people want to duke it out for the item. I've got a few of them. Looking back now I probably should have tried to get the whole pile of 50 or 60 cards the person had (that was about 15 years ago or so). There were lots of dupes in the pile.

The "caption at top of card" (miscut), and the "Champions of National League 1919" versions are rare. The 2 that were just on eBay are the more common ones ("Worlds Champions") but still not seen too often. I once picked up a group of 20 in one Lot a few years back, but have only seen maybe 20-30 since then.

Like Frank said, the ones listing "National League Champions" are tougher to find, ans the whole said was reproduced with the "Worlds Champions" heading after they beat the Black Sox. Most players have the full bleed photos while some have white borders (sort of like the 1921-24 Exhibit sets. This set (like many others) seems to be getting a little tougher to find these days.

I only have the common cards (world champs). I didn't scan the Groh since Zach has already displayed that one. Nice Rousch!
