Default Consolidated Cigarette Co. / Consols & Paxi Cigarettes card

picked this up a few months ago and am unfamiliar with the issue...haven't done any extensive research so I don't know if it's part of a known or listed set, and if so, how many are in the set and when it was issued - MY guess would be late 19th century or early 1900's (?).

it's a two-sided card, and the size is 1 7/8" x 2 7/8".

scans show the front and the back of the card.

any assistance would be appreciated.

thanks in advance.

DS, your card is from the N354 Cosolidated Cigarettes "Turn Cards" set. They are pretty tough "type" cards to find. Yours does have some damage to it but it isn't too bad.

Feel free to email me privately should you decide you wanted to part with it, I love the funky (off-the-wall) stuff.

Default neat cards

I have one from the set that is two sided that I will try to scan later....it's great. It has a guy that is obviously quite intoxicated with a bottle on a table that he is sitting at. Here are a few cards you don't see every day...

Rhett & Leon, thanks very much for your help in identifying the set, as the one that I have is the only one that I can recall having ever seen.

and Leon: if you get a chance, it would be great to see the N354 example that you have if you happen to get around to scanning and posting it.

as for the two N352 scans that Leon posted, I'm familiar with the die cut figures and have most ( if not all ) of the baseball players plus a number of examples from each of the other sports ( cricket, soccer, rugby, lawn tennis, etc. ) that are listed on the advertising cards shown - and while I have never seen the die cuts accompanied by the Consolidated Cigarette Co. cards that are shown in your scans, I've always been curious as to how the die cuts were issued and marketed as well.

thanks again to both of you for your input and assistance.

DS
