Default Should i pick these up??? 1939 father and son shoes

Hi All:

I have a chance to pick up eight different "common" 1939 Father and Sons Shoes cards of the Phillies and A's. Four from each team. However, the guy who has them wants $100 each over book value. The book being the SCD Standard Catalog.

So, my question to all of you is, do I pick them up?

I welcome your input

I agree with Frank...it is one of the toughest regional issues from the late '30s. $100 over book value seems a bit excessive though.

He is actually asking $500 per card. I was wrong in saying $100 over book. My 2011 book lists commons at $450.

Default upgrade

Here is what we are talking about....I wouldn't mind upgrading this one but the seller is certainly wanting all the money.
