Ryan I was just telling somebody I overpaid about double for the Crandall but I got emotional about it. The real question is why did you bid me up if you can get one for half the price????

Dot, Schmot, that's a really nice card, a real bargain at that price. And I wonder if that really is a dot instead of residue of some kind, although you would expect the TPGs to have the imaging technology to at least get that difference right.

Lol thanks. It’s been really hard to pick up these 2nd tier HOFers, no more staying up all night bidding back and forth for me. Too many disappointments getting outbid at crazy prices
I put in a bid early in the evening and woke up paying less than my max .

I'm not really a card guy, and I don't know how often this kind of opportunity comes up, but I could see making a niche collection out of picking up pretty cards that have been "degraded" by a TPG for some reason of theirs unrelated to the overall appearance. Certainly there are those out there doing just that, but you sure picked this one up cheap, IMO.

I’m not a big back variation collector, but I thought $630 for a PSA 2.5 Tolstoi Barger seemed high.

I don't think it's just me but everything I was watching went way high....
It's hard to pay todays prices when a few years ago they were so much less.

Nice one! I was chasing that but dropped out. FWIW, that is not an Eastern Exhibit. It is a postcard, and much tougher to find than the EE. SGC mislabeled it. Here is what the back looks like clean:

Interesting how my Wheat has the same hole.

I'm starting to collect some different sets. That gives me a fresh perspective.
Otherwise my brain is stuck on the old prices from 2-3 years ago and I never win anything!
