The Stengel ended for just a little over $200....This $300+ is an anomoly or a toughie from the set. I am not sure I have ever seen too much written about about E220's but I like them due to their relative scarcity....regards

I was puzzled about this one too-- even the second underbidder was at $90, which seems high....What gives?

Since we really don't see much of this stuff with E220, and I was putting up a lot of stuff from my office and found this, I figure I could show this stuff..predates E220 by a few years but still in the ballpark....

As a collector of the E220's I think the Bob Meusel might be a little more difficult than some in the set to come by. However, I think there is something more to this than just relative scarcity. I checked the bidding pattern of the winning bidder a couple months ago and came to the conclusion that he refuses to be outbid. In a months period he had placed over a 100 bids, and had won every single one. I'm thinking long time collector/lottery winner/came into inheritance.

The winning bidder bought a bunch of E145's from me in the last few weeks. Also buying from other sets, i.e. Goudey's and Bowman's. Long time collector returning to the hobby, a top-notch guy and fast to pay. Agree that he will pay up for what he sets his sights on...
