Default Need Help with Lou Gehrig Card

Posted By: e107collector

I was wondering if someone out there can help me out. I was wondering if someone can tell me what is considered to be Lou Gehrig's rookie card? What set is it from, what year, any photos, are they easy to find? Value of one? Any info will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Tony

1925 Exhibits. Hard to find and costly now that more people know. A second, cheaper option (and much easier to find) is a Gehrig W590 - These were issued from 1925-1931. Not a true 1925 only card like the Exhibits Rookie, but some were issued that year.

Slaughter's "rookie" card would be his 1941 Double Play. First Bowman card - 1948.

Enos Slaughter also appears in the 1941 W754 set.

I don't think the W590 of Gehrig is any easier than the Exhibit. I only know of one -- Andy Baran's.

the W590 being as rare as the Exhibit. If I would have purchased everyone I have seen for sale in the last year, I would have at least a couple dozen!
