I think it's more like Rick got a call from someone and agreed to have it edited out....it's his call on his posts.....but, no, I doubt there was the capacity to play head games....

thanks...sorry, sometimes I get so wound up being defensive I don't know the good from the bad.....I feel like a "push me pull me" sometimes.....I enjoy moderating except in threads like this.....though there was some humor and I very much enjoy that....

For the record I will NOT edit anyone's posts if someone else asks me too unless the post is anonymous (then I have no mercy).....I WILL make sure folks know who it is that is saying things about them though, if they ask.....no wimpy anonymous posting on this board.....

Leon,

Just out of idle curiousity, does Gizmo use all capital letters when speaking on the phone also?

Jim,
Only when he yells. He uses the small caps function when he whispers.

Jodi: George completely agrees as to the abuse of second person plural self-referencing. It makes George mad. Jimmy too.

As far as the news goes, yawn. GAI is a dead grader walking anyhow.

"Rick called back and asked for the original post to be edited out, so I did. This is unusual but since he can't post, due not to nothing he did, I helped. He did ask to take down, or edit, a few other posts but that is up to the original posters......Hope everyone understands and appreciates the issue. I also see no reason to lock the thread at this point. .....long day"

With this information, I must assume that Rick's power play worked and he has received a counter offer from GAI to keep him away from his other offers. Out of a courtesy for his strong relationship with Steve/GAI, he requested Leon to delete his original post while he mulls the offer. I can not think of any other tangabile reason for the text edit.

<<For those unfamiliar. Rick Giddings, aka Gizmo, is a real superstar and a cunning linguist>>

cunning linguist? As Dave Niehaus would say..."My Oh My."

This has to be one of the funniest threads I've seen on here in a long time!

"<<Gizmo, former lead authenticator at GAI, is now on the Coache's Corner Team." Now that my friends, would be a game changing event.>>

C'mon Mike, even Coach's Corner has standards to uphold!"

Anthony,

Lets say Jeff L. hired you on retainer to buy a Ty Cobb, the best player in baseball history to wear spikes, autographed Boston Garter card and both Gizmo and Coach's Corner happened to have one available at the same time and you were forced to purchase one of them.

1. Do you buy from the former lead authenticator of GAI?

Or

2. Do you buy from the forensic experts employed by Coach's Corner?

There are no third choices.

Dicky Giddings is no longer an expert on the GAI website. He must have pissed them off, to have his name & picture taken down so fast.

Jeff,

Take the one from Coach's Corner. They have a Cobb signing scheduled for next week!

Jim, true, I did read that somewhere. Shame that Cobb's signings have slowed down so much ever since he died and all.

This guy is a piece of work.

He asks Leon to post several messages thinking anyone here would give a crap. Leon does so and then the guy has the balls to ask Leon to remove the post.

All I know of Gizmo is what I have read here and I wouldn't take anything for free from this guy.

Everything from his posts, actions to reactions and "statements" all give me the slimy POS dealer feeling.

This guy needs to leave this forum be.

I don't think there are many left that care much about GAI and I am sure there isn't anyone that cares about gizmo.

What is the problem with not user aol and using explorer which is standard on every computer I have ever owned.

I think this guy needs to vanish like the great Gazoo.

They made him an Un-Person. Very creepy Orwellian vibe...

I admire him for working for Global and selling only raw cards, but will trim down my praise for him, and alter my opinion from top to bottom and side to side, if someone can tell me why I should not admire him.
