Default Question about trimmed cards in PSA/SGC pop reports.

Posted By: cmoking

Does either PSA or SGC put cards they have encapsulated as Authentic (trimmed or otherwise) in their population reports?

I just had my W590 Lou Gehrig graded by psa as authentic. There are no examples graded by them showing in the pop report to date. They post on mondays I'm told, check the pop report then.

thanks, that's a good test case. My guess is that it won't show up at all...but it will be interesting to see. THanks.

Not in PSA- I've got a few (some T3's and T9's and a '67 Maris proof) and none of them show up in the pop reports.
They do show up on the registry as 3's.

Neither SGC or PSA count trimmed or altered cards on their population reports.

I am fairly sure that PSA includes them. Often you will see a given number of cards in the 1 to 10 scale, while the total is a card (or maybe two) higher. The "Authentic" category is what I have believed makes up the discrepancy.

Not quite. The descrepancy is cards with qualifiers.

"They do show up on the registry as 3's."
ANTHONY - I've noticed that too!
But the grade weight counts as zero.
Which is correct since its below a PSA-1
I saw my low grade T3 set dip a notch when I
added a John McGraw authentic in it.
If it did count as a 3, it would have rose slightly.
The important # to me which was accurate was that it
added the proper % towards completion...jay
