Default .... Wagner call.....again

So I just got a call from a nice young man. He said he found my website and had a few questions about some baseball cards he got. He said he received them from his 92 yr old grandmother. This young guy has no reason to lie and I did believe him in what he was saying. My "scam-o-meter" was not going off on this one. He proceeds to tell me that it is white bordered and has an orange background, around Honus. He then tells me, and reads the ad on the back, for a Sovereign 460 card. I broke the news to him . Why is it that all of these grandmothers and grandfathers collected fake cards?

He said he has about 160 more cards and will send me a few scans of them for ID help. I am hoping for a better outcome on those.

Default quick follow up

The subsequent scans sent shows the 92 yr old grandmother was into collecting real 1920's (baseball) strip cards. So he has that going for him.......

Why do people use the grandmother ploy? If something happened to me, Leon you may get a call from my Mom explaining that I had told her that if she ever wanted to sell the cards you would be a good source for help. But I just don't envision that she would introduce the concept of "Hey Leon, by the way, I'm a grandmother."
