Default Can Anyone Identify This Card

Posted By: Richard

Greetings, I won this card on ebay. I am not sure what set it is from as there was no identification. Here is the picture. The back has a boxer pictured (Carl Morris). Approximate size is 6"1/2 X 4"
Thank You

Nope not a Fan Craze looks like some kind of book page and note a card at all. Do you have a better scan of the whole thing or the back maybe?

Magazine cut is my guess.

Is the back unrelated and is it made out of paper like it was cut from a magazine. There are many of these on eBay. If so it is not a card, but just a picture cut from a magazine of the era.

I don't my set here at work, but I would guess that the photo comes from part of a page from Spink's One Thousand Sports Stories (1000 Big and Little Ones), a fine three volume set printed in 1921, covering all sports, with lots of great photos from all sports

I'll check tonight to see if my hunch was correct.

Max

Carl Morris was a great white hope contender in the teens and early 20s.

Hello, the back is unrelated it depicts the boxer Morris. Does not appear to be cut as it is very smooth like a card around the borders.
Thanks for the opinions.

And probably the same pose used on the E107 and the W600 although i have not gotten them out to compare.

What this particular item was intended for I do not know.

Scott

Scott, what makes you think it might be a Carl Horner photo?
Thanks
