Default Strange interactions

Just for those of you bidding/considering bidding ... I won a few cards from him. (they were very cheap so I took a chance). He never sent them. I filed a claim with EBay and got my money back and left negative feedback.

Out of the blue he emails me a few weeks later and says he had a fire and the cards I bought were destroyed. Then I get an email the next day from Ebay were the guy requested that I remove the negative ... and in the note he says, he had a heart attack and a fire, and that the cards I had won still exist.

Honestly, I have no idea what to make of this ... but I removed my negative (in case he was honest about the heart attack).

What I find weird is the willard's choclates cards now have fire damage. How do you have a fire, burn multiple cards ... but only a little bit on each ... and in such a way so as not to affect the primary image?

I'm not going to draw any conclusions but figured I'd share the info and let those bidding decide for themselves.

Cheers,
Patrick

met him in person and he is definitely an odd one. I do not personally believe the heart attack story as he didn't fit the typical physical build for a person with a heart issue. He is in his early 50's and wouldn't trust much of what he says. I did buy my W572 ruth from him but that was after inspecting the card for authenticity. I also find the fire story to be unlikely but you never know. My 2 cents.

The currently listed Cobb M116 and the W514 Ruth look off to me too (particularly the Cobb).

Default 50s

Its worth noting that he's in his early 50s but told the OP that he was 85 and said he had a 51 year old son (his own age) who had died which was causing him epic grief. This is too creative for my taste.

Saw today in seller's feedback for the W514 Ruth that this card was counterfeit. Not sure if this meant that buyer sent the card into a TPG or not.

What a situation.... As Ken noted he got a good Ruth but it seems unusual to find a good High end card with other bad cards.....

The card looks authentic; it has just been treated with some type of solvent, which has altered the original card stock.
