Default Vintage ticket grading?

Posted By: Jim

I'm just looking for opinions on PSA's ticket grading service. I'm interested in submitting this ticket, but the club membership is expensive, for something I'm only going to use once...

Jim,
Nice Ticket. If you do not wish to sign up, find a "PSA Authorized Dealer" in your area. You can submit through them with out paying the membership fee.

Regards,
Nick

Thanks for the compliment Nick! I actually tried that route with some local PSA authorized shops, and they said that they didn't want to be responsible for shiping if the ticket was lost, and they also didn't want to be responsible if the ticket didn't get a grade I'd be happy with, which is odd, since I know it's not up to the shop, and I'd be happy with whatever it'd receive from PSA.

Submit it when they are grading onsite as you do not need to be a member when submitting that way.

Elliot - Make sure that PSA will be gradinging tickets onsite at that particular show. Usually the ticket slabs are bigger then the standard sized slabs and they may not be bringing them to the show. At Fort washington, they do not bring the tall boy holders with them. So tickets may not be something that they grade on site.

Jay, good point. He would be well served to call PSA and ensure that they are grading tickets onsite before he makes a special trip.

all ticket grading goes through dennis jose of chicagotix.com so i wouldnt look for onsite grading anytime soon

also, ive heard that there is a tremendous backlog for ticket grading (some folks are still waiting from the national)

That's funny, when I was looking for dealers who could submit the ticket to PSA for me, Dennis was one of the people I emailed. He got in touch last week, and I'm expecting to hear from him soon. That backlog doesn't sound too hopeful though.
