Default Amazing stuff, all around.

Great pickups, everyone - especially love the Wagner, Matt!

Marquard from Goodwin, Gibson (tougher pastel) from eBay

and a pesky "Anon 3" Recruit - many thanks for the trade, Rob!

Default Tolstoi pack

I must offer a resounding thank you to my good friend Jon Canfield for my
beautiful Tolstoi pack which I am gazing at this very moment.
I can't scan but if you look at Jon's pictured earlier, you will basically see mine.
It is a real beauty.
best,
barry

Jim,

Thanks for the kind words. I had been searching for 10 years for a Tolstoi for my collection. I've missed one or two over the years on eBay but there are just not that many around. I've only seen 10 or so. There was one on eBay earlier this year and I set a ridiculous snipe for it because I wanted it so bad. Well, someone outsniped me (and paid over $600 for the pack).

About three weeks go, I was excited to finally come across a Tolstoi and there just happened to be 2 of them together. I kept one for my collection and I knew Barry was looking for one as well so offered the second one to him. Unfortunately, those were the only two in the deal.

- Jon

Tough one to find: York Caramel, Type 2:

1927 York Caramels E210-2

Not to be confused with Type 1:

Default Philly Show Pickups

Got these 5 cards for my type collection at the Philly Show. Got lazy and only took photos of the backs of 4 of them, but all are "commons" except for the Martens, which is a SGC 20 Frank Baker.

Default Pickups on the way to the Philly Show

Another local collector rode with me to the Philly Show. On the way up, we did a trade, and I obtained these two 1950 Hage's Dairy cards for my type collection. My Standard Catalog says there is a third back that mentions Hage's milk; if anyone has one of these they are willing to sell or trade, I'd be most interested!

Hi Barry,
I have casually been doing packs for a couple of years. I have five T206s and a couple of others. 17 is amazing! How many different T206 brands?

I haven't been posting alot on my pickups since I still have along way to go on the T206 set, but I just wanted to share a scan of this one.

I can't get over the borders on this one.

That is quite a collection! For T206, I just have Piedmont (2), Sweet Cap, EPDG, and a Drum pouch. I also have an Allen and Ginter/Richmond Straight Cut, a Goodwin & Co/Old Judge pack, and a Crofts Cocoa tin. Take care my friend.

Mike- That Block is more than just pesky, it may be THE toughest card to find in the set for some bizarre reason. As a guy who has put together 3 T207sets, card by card, I can attest to its difficulty. Because it has a Recruit back, collectors generally think it is not tough as the Anonymous, Cycle and Broadleaf back cards but my advice to anyone collecting this set is to grab one in any condition, then wait and upgrade.
Rob A.- Dynamite Zeenut Tobin with coupon. Simply great pickup!

Default Thanks David!

Thanks David, it looks just as nice in person! I also picked up this semi-rarity, but I do not have a scan of the back as it is not in yet. I might not be able to get one up soon as the computer that has my scanner software on it is in for service and may not be back for a while. Anyhow, here is the T206 Dahlen Brooklyn variation I have coming in (it is a Piedmont 350 back- the one just sold on eBay).

Some paper loss on the back brought this down to 2.5, but the front is incredible.
