Default 1908 Rose Co. Postcards During the Day...

I was geeking out and doing some research on the 1908 Rose Company Postcard set and came across the following article on Walter Johnson. It appeared in the December 7, 1908 issue of the Los Angeles Herald newspaper. I am sure that there are other instances of actual baseball cards (or postcards) being used in a newspaper article, but I thought that this was pretty neat.

Yes, I did not want to get into the whole "rookie card" thing, but the 1908 Rose Co. postcard was definitely the first "card" of Johnson in the Major Leagues.

Which version of the Weiser? If you are talking about the earliest, the 1907 RPPC version, then that was surely made when before he made it to the Major Leagues and would be considered a pre-rookie - kind of like the 1914 Baltimore News Ruth or 1934 Zeenut DiMaggio.

Yes, the Weiser would definitely be considered a postcard, but we were making reference to Johnson's first card/postcard from when he was in the Major Leagues.
