I am a novice at posting images, so I am pretty shocked this actually worked. Sorry the image is a little blurry. I am a Thorpe fan, and picked up the Thorpe Olympiska Spelens postcard. I was kinda shocked at the price, especially since it was a PWCC auction. I put in a max bid and was expecting to get sniped at the last second. Several snipes did come in, but my bid held up.

Default 1937-39 Orcajo Cincinnati Reds Postcards

...Just got the bottom one ; got the top one earlier this year ; most of the Orcajo Reds postcards are sponsored by '' Val Decker Meats''....there are a smaller number sponsored by '' Metropolitan Clothing''...the plain unadorned variety , no ad at all , is the one that gives OCD set completionistas a reason to get out of bed in the morning...

Thanks. I remember you picking up an identical postcard a few months back. Like I said, I was expecting to get sniped out of the running. Even a low-grade Thorpe 101-5 card would be out of my price range. I know postcards aren't everyone's thing, but it is amazing to me that Thorpe postcards predating the M101-5 sell for 10-30 percent of the M101-5 card.

The one I am kicking myself over is that there was a raw, postally used (postmarked from Carlisle, Pa., no less) "Olympic Heroes" Thorpe postcard on eBay that sold for $234 a couple weeks ago. I missed it until I saw it in the sold listings. The "Olympic Heroes" postcard touts Thorpe's return to Carlisle following the Olympics and pictures him putting the shot. I thought maybe someone on here scooped it up to flip because it went so cheap. But nothing ever turned up when I asked on the B/S/T board.

These were my two favorite pickups from the Cleveland National. There are not many cards can claim to have 4 of the greatest HOFers on the same card (Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Grover Alexander, Dave Bancroft, and Lee Meadows)...

Rhett, that is a very interesting card with Ruth, Cobb etc. What exactly is it?

It is from a set produced by Universal Toy & Novelty Co. around 1919 or so. We have discussed them before here...

On the bright side, I'm about 14% done with the known Tango Eggs set.

Awesome card, Zach! The crispness of that card sure made it's listing stand out. Great pick up!

Certainly not a very popular set and in fact are stamps, not cards, but the 1944 Yankees set commemorating the 1943 world champs is one of the few color issues of the era. There was a set that had languished on BST for a while and I decided to pick it up and package it for better enjoyment. Could think of worse ways to spend a rainy Friday night.

Wow Todd, those look incredible. Not being familiar with the issue, I figured I was looking at a modern "buyback" issue until I read the description. Nicely done.

Okay, here we go again with this Monster thing. I'm going to approach this a little differently this time. Sure I will. The Monster will never see me coming. I'm going to sneak up on him all silent like. At least I can honestly say that this is the best condition Ty Cobb card I've ever owned... hands down.

Also picked up the cleanest Chase-Trophy I've ever owned. Quite happy with this pair. And now my unsigned T206 collection now stands at 20 examples. Once I had 521...

I know it's not a 1914 Cracker Jack or a T206, but I was glad to work out a deal with a fellow board member for these two cards.

I knew that portrait of Jennings on your card Daryl looked familiar. It is the same portrait that is used on his 1916 Tango Eggs card... Nice cards!!!

Beautiful card Ben.

BTW, what is a "F Scott Fitzgerald" in card lingo? I know he is the famous author, but I am confused about the card being called that.

I too am befuddled by your terminology. Please explain.

Thanks to everyone. Here is a link to a thread I started when I found this card on EBay. There are some very good explanations by some great people on this forum about the "F" stamp and the supposed relation to F Scott Fitzgerald. The debate is still out there, but I chose to be a believer!
Worst case scenario, I have a T206 Hall of Famer!
