Official pro league Spalding baseball. Also signed by BOBBY MURCER, MEL STOTTLEMYRE, RON HANSEN, FRITZ PETERSON, ROY WHITE, JIM HARDIN, RON BLOMBERG, FRANK BAKER, JAKE GIBBS, RON SWOBODA, FELIPE ALOU, JIM LYTTLE, LINDY McDANIEL, HORACE CLARKE, AL CLOSTER, JERRY KENNEY, JACK AKER, TERRY LEY Ball exhibits normal toning most of the signatures are average to light with the most desirable of them all that of Munson being one of the darkest on the ball. Munson has signed in the middle of one of the panels and would display nicely. I obtained this baseball directly from the original collector a die hard Yankees fan. The history of how he obtained the ball signed by Munson is as interesting as the ball itself. Throughout the course of Jim Lyttle's stint with the Yankees he developed a personal friendship with him. After having asked Munson on numerous occasions for his autograph and having been denied Lyttle offered to help and pursuaded Munson to sign the ball. In a perfect world it would have been best to stop there but the collector then proceeded to have the ball signed by the other members of the team. A choice opportunity to obtain and Thurman Munson signed ball without breaking the bank. Overall would grade the ball a 6 on a scale of one to 10 with some signatures being a little lighter than others , The Munson itself would grade a strong 7 possibly 8 on a scale of one to 10. Truly a Yankees legend and possible future Hall of Famer. He won the Rookie of the Year award in 1970 and the MVP award in 1976 in addition to being Yankees team Captain. PLayed his entire career 1969-79 for the Yankees and died in a plane crash in 1979. $950.00 PPD
