Why would anyone send in a 1975 Topps common for grading?

For the same reason someone would buy a T206 common that went through the wash. It's not worth much of anything, but some people aren't as concerned with that as others.

Isn't that from David Vargha, the noted PSA apologist?

The link no longer works. Did PSA get the item pulled from ebay?

Somebody (from PSA, I'm sure) complained to eBay and the auctions were pulled. Did anyone save the text? For some reason, I never bothered to do it.

It's a "shame" the auction was pulled. I had heard rumors that a rich baseball card collecting shiek from the Middle East was going to pay a lot of money for that card
