Default T206 Ebay auctions - Ending early epidemic

Posted By: Art M.

What is going on lately with Ebay sellers ending T206 tough back auctions early? Just in the last week three tough back T206 card auctions on Ebay were suddenly ended early? Greedy sellers or impatient buyers? Im sure the sellers took a loss on these by ending the auctions early. Maybe one of the sellers of these (Barry S.) can comment?

Default T206 Ebay auctions - Ending early epidemic

In a lot of cases the seller may not know what they have or the lack of early bidding on the item makes it easier for seller to accept a relatively large offer (with respect to the current bidding). Nobody wants to take it in the shorts although that's exactly what could happen if the seller terminates the auction in lieu of what the seller considers a fair cash offer. The item could be worth a heck of a lot more in the end but the seller just doesn't want to take a chance on it. I suppose that's what reserves are for.

I just looked at one of the items listed and the seller is fairly well known. Barry's very knowledgeable and I'm sure he didn't get taken to the cleaners. It could have been that the consignor backed out or someone just made an offer that made a lot of sense. Sense would/could include "goodwill".
