1910 Old Mill Cigarettes T210 Joe Jackson Series 8 Trading Card NM

Signed by Babe Ruth

"I help clean my neighbors garages sometimes to help them organize and get rid of things they don't need so it does not pile up. I found a very unique card while cleaning up my neighbors garage. They let me keep certain things that I find but this was something that caught my eye. I asked my neighbor about it and she told me her husband purchased a storage in auction for cheap since they needed one to store items to make room in their home and they found the boxes from the previous owner of the storage. They did look through the bins and boxes and kept some items and brought them home and kept them in the garage. I found that this was a 1910 "Shoeless" T210 Joe Jackson Old Mill Cigarettes Baseball Subjects Large Assortment Series 8 Card. I asked why Babe Ruth signature was on it but they had no idea. For anybody who is collector for cigarettes Baseball cards you can add it to your collection. I went to try get it graded in three locations that were recommended to me but are charging me 385 to 485 and its all my rent payment and don't want to risk losing my home right now since I always pay on time. With work and school I will just take my chances and maybe someone else who can afford to get it graded or just wants it for display purposes can take it off my hands. I ship the very next day once payment is made and I always include a free tracking number on all orders. If you have any questions please leave me a message and I will answer it as soon as possible. Thank You and Enjoy. I have other items so please feel free to look around. Thank You"

I'm suspicious. Why wouldn't he simply make the "buy it now" price $45,000 or $46,000? Does $45,678 make it appear more legit, giving the impression he did some research on pricing?

Get it? four, five, six, seven, eight. He's impressing us with his ability to count numerically.

The only thing missing is Joe's very evasive signature on the back of the card.

"Found in the same garage as a T206 Honus Wagner, signed and dated by Amelia Earhart, the day after her plane went missing over the Pacific Ocean."

At this point, it would be more believable if he said it was found in the Amber Room.

Meh...

I'd rather have a Baltimore News Ruth that was signed by Jackson.

Ok... maybe you guys aren't looking at it correctly.

I don't think Babe Ruth signed that Jackson card. We all should know the card is a reprint. And the reprint was made after Babe Ruth died.

But guys, it's that Card Saver I that Babe signed with a Magic Marker. (A Sharpie wouldn't make that wide stroke with the corners made as the direction of the marker changed.) I think there's a fair chance PSA would grade that Card Saver I. If it were a Card Saver III or higher, then I might be slightly skeptical about it, but that looks like a real Card Saver I.

Plot twist: Joe Jackson could not read or write. Maybe he saw a bunch of Babe Ruth autographed pictures and practiced trying to mimic the signature. So, when he is requested for an autograph, he just signs "Babe Ruth" thinking that is his own signature. It could explain why it is almost impossible to find a "Joe Jackson" autograph and why there are so many "Babe Ruth" autos out there.

This seller replied to a negative feedback they received with:

"I have never had you as a buyer for a beanie baby. Who are you? You got me confused with someone else. False Review ruining my account. Please remove this remove the feedback you left."

Yo, dingbat! The only person who can leave negative feedback for that item is the buyer. Sheesh, what a maroon...

Of all the autographed cards this guy could try to scam, he chose a Joe Jackson. But the idea that Joe Jackson was emulating Babe Ruth's autograph is hilarious. Well done.

I sent the seller "moy345" a message letting him know I think he is a comic genius, albeit unintentionally.

You gotta give him credit for coming up with such an elaborate, detailed story. This guy might have a future writing descriptions for auction houses.

His other items for sale are mostly Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh cards, Beanie Babies, and VHS tapes of movies. I know that's what I like to see when I'm buying a T210 Joe Jackson.

I don't know about that BIN price, it seems a bit high. He might have more potential takers if it were only $three, four, five, six, seven!

Little known fact is that Joe Jackson had a precocious daughter named Ruth. She thought well of herself and in preschool signed the card “Babe” Ruth instead of her usual Baby Ruth. In fact the Baby Ruth cards are much rarer.
