Have a few Nagy & Carter's.
Here's a trio of different Nagy owned cards.
The E90-3 came from Leon a few months back.

Lyle -

It wouldn't be quite so boring if you would let me show it off for awhile.

I have a couple at home - all T205 - Ray Fisher (SP), Bob Bescher and another one - they're some of the prized cards of my collection, even if not worth a TON, they are beautiful. He really collected with Eye appeal in Mind, and it shows!

Just curious...would anybody actually pay a premium for a Nagy, Carter, etc item?

Thankfully, Mr. Nagy did not restrict himself to MT and better cards. Love the deep burnt red background on this card. Got this one from md, by the way.

Some of the sharpest cards that I have displayed in prior posts I have won from Frank during 1981 - 1994.
Here are some recent ones that I have acquired......

mine and everyone's favorite...cobb, also have a wagner and a cicotte. i think nagy cards are better than carter's just because all mine came from nagy!

p.s. sgc was really tough on some of these cards. all mine present much better than technical grade.

"Just curious...would anybody actually pay a premium for a Nagy, Carter, etc item?"

I think some would pay a little extra. You know where it came from, you know its authentic, you own a card that was part of one of the greatest collections ever.

My question is for those that prefer raw cards or buy graded cards and de-slab them. If you were to buy a Nagy/Carter etc card, would you deslab it? Has anyone done this and sent it in to get regraded or put in a PSA holder or just likes it better raw? Just wondering.

Rob

I generally deslab cards (low grade only though) but I bought a Carter Collection Ramly and it will stay in the slab. Too much of a history to bust it out IMHO.

Dave F.- Yes, I would pay more than I normally would for a Lionel Carter card. Luckily I have bought many for what I felt were very nominal prices.
