Default Contracts at auction.

Goldin has the Robinson rookie contract.

Steiner has the Gehrig rookie contract.

While there has been a lot of noise made about the importance of the Jackie contract there has been virtually no chatter about the importance of the Lou contract...

What do you think, is the Gehrig contract being overlooked?

Comparatively speaking it is "only" a collectible. It's not a document that literally changed American history.

Great piece of baseball history and a very cool collectible. However, it is not the metaphorical sledgehammer that broke the color barrier.

The Gehrig contract will not be overlooked within the hobby. It just won't get much if any interest from outside of the hobby. The Robinson contracts on the other hand...

The Robinson contract belongs in the Smithsonian or National Archives. The Gehrig contract is HOF-worthy. The are both amazing, but the latter does not hold a candle to the former.

Would Ruth's 1st contract beat Jackie's head to head?
