Default How fluffy are the clouds in your T206 McQuillan sky?

I have noticed that the T206 McQuillan fielding card that has clouds in the sky background can vary. I think the big fluffy clouds are the most frequently seen, but cards with barely noticeable, ill-defined cloud mass are out there as well.

My versions of fluffy (Piedmont 350) and barely there (Piedmont 150). What do you have?

Brian

Default McQuillan

For us McQuillan's, the clouds are normally gray and dark.

Just joking!

Fluffy is an inaccurate term. The correct hobby term is poofy.

Hmmmm... FWIW, my P150 has the same clouds as your P150.

I reserve the term poofy to describe the sleeves of certain fancier men's shirts. I prefer fluffy when referring to artistic depictions of clouds on baseball cardboard, but would not be offended if someone would alternatively describe them as 'cotton ball' clouds.

Sorry to hear this Rick, hopefully the atmosphere will improve to at least ill-defined for you and your clan in the near future.

Thanks Taylor, we have a Piedmont 150 cloud match. Any others want to chime in before the rain sets in?

Ron it looks like a snow blizzard has swept across your Sweet Caporal. And your PSA Piedmont McQuillan...is it 150 or 350 Series?

Brian,

I did some digging yesterday on this. It's not only because it's a 150 Piedmont. Something else must be going on. See https://www.ebay.com/itm/362344358025 as one example. (I also believe it's the same factory as mine, though I'm not at home now)

In looking at some other examples, I'm starting to think it's more of a non-obvious registration and/or low blue ink issue. The 'concentration' of the white in the clouds and the blue of the sky is in the same area on both cards. It's just not as well 'defined' in the cloudy cloud version.

Sounds like bad luck Schleprock.
I like the clouded/poofy/fluffy clouds.
