Default Let's see your postwar "holy grail"!

Since there's a thread going on the prewar side about the 19th century "holy grail" I figured it would be fun to see which single card is the highlight of everyone's postwar collection. It should be interesting to see what everyone comes up with!

Default Here are my twin Grails...

took me more than 15 years to find them both, and I will never move them, since they are my cousins. I'm just glad they both have fairly good registration and color.

Card wise, it was probably this one. Now if I can just find Collins/Martin and Tinker/Martin

In the pack collection, these two were brutally tough

I have always had a complete 1954 Bowman set since I bought the packs back in the day & put it together, but was never able to pull a #66 TW (or even knew it existed back then!) About a year or so ago I found the one I wanted to really finish off my set, so this card is quite special to me!

A tiny, very lite stain in the upper right corner is almost unnoticeable considering the great centering, spotless glossy surface & really nice corners!

I don't collect post war per se but do go up to 1949, so that is certainly post war. Here is a 1946 card (not many from that year) that I really enjoy.....

For me it's been the 1968 Topps 3d's-I only have the one:

Not as attractive but even harder to find, again my only one (of course, I mostly collect Tops types!):

For years it was the only one of all Bell Brands graded PSA 9. Still a 1 of 2. I think a Koufax 9 sold for over $25K.

I collect Nate Colbert cards and this "card" was even harder to find the the 1972 Venezuelan sticker cards.

You just can't beat '68 3Ds, and all though the autographed card is from 1992, it is tough to find.

Though not baseball this is my favorite postwar card. It is the only 1951 Ringside of my cousin w/autograph that I've ever seen:

In baseball, I don't have a real "grail" card; this is probably about as close as I can come:

Default 1949 LEAF Satchel Paige

The combination of extremely tough to find and very sought after makes this 1949 LEAF GUM Co. card of Paige
high on the list for set collectors, or type collectors.

An odd one...but I like it...1976 Topps unissued proof of Bobby Darwin pictured with his helmet instead of the cap in the regular issue...

My trifecta of Post War Holy Grail Cards. I would love to add a PSA 7- 1948 Jackie Robinson RC and PSA 7 1954 Hank Aaron RC to this post one day.

It's no Mantle but at least it's a '52 Topps. I'm on a limited budget so I never thought I would actually own this card.

Default So hard to choose 1!

So many great choices, how do I pick only 1. Okay, I've narrowed it to items I laready have digital images of and came up with 2

1) Possibly 1 of a kind 1967 pinup sticker

2) 1962 Venezuelan

Its a tie for me between these two Mantles. The 1951 is the true rookie card, but the 1952 is the most popular. If i had to pick just one, yes, it would be the 1952 Topps.

My favorite card ever made. I finally got one a few months back after selling off a whole bunch of useless game used bat/jersey cards.

It's not my most expensive or nicest post war card but I'd say my 54 Bowman Ted Williams in SGC 50 is the grail. Although I'd really like to own one in an 8 or higher.

Default Holy Grail

My Holy Grail is a gem mint 1962 Salada of #48 Dick Williams (name on right). To go along with it I also have the Brandt (Orioles) and Bailey (C by ear). All I need now is to find a Killebrew variation.

I also have a 1955 Armour Kuenn (Spaced - correct last line) in gold. Got that in a package of hot dogs when I was a kid

eBay needs to come up with a new rule that every time you buy a card the seller has to provide you with a piece of gum, pack of hot dogs, or whatever originally came with the card.

Very impressive for the three Salada coin variations, but you have me stumped on the last one. What is the Killebrew variation?

I collect Cardinals team sets and Topps Cardinals autographs. I couldn't decide which test issue or insert to chose, so I chose a very rare modern autographed card.

I only know of 2 that exist, and this is one of them.
