I'd say the T206 Cobb red. |

Are you asking which "desirable" card resides in the MOST collections?? Good question. |

Since you started with a T206; I would chose the Walter Johnson |

The N28 Cap Anson card also seems to be everywhere. |

although I haven't had one since 1989! For those in need of a N162 Kelly next April, mine graded a 6...(does that go in B/S/T?) |

So true. The first Mantle I ever owned was that affordable 1958 All-Star Mantle (second premium HOF'er was the Williams All-Star). |

I'd also pick the T206 Cobb as a 'true classic' early baseball card that is most attainable to the average collector and is most likely to be collections. (I prefer the port green and bat off and least like the bat on). |

Perhaps the Matty black hat T206. Lots of them around, classic card which everyone wants. |

For vintage card collectors, the most plentiful on ebay traditionally have been the 206 Cobb red background and Matty black cap. Frankly, because they are so available you almost can't help but buy these in any condition you'd like. |

As I was completing my set, I left this one and the Elberfeld portrait, as the last two cards to get. I finally broke down and picked up the Red Back in horrid but presentable condition for a little over $200 -- you've seen it, the one with all the paper glued to the back. So, yes, I have that one now, but only within the past few weeks. If this thread had started a month ago, I was the guy with 518 different T206 cards, and not one of them a red backed Cobb. |

It is the red Cobb and the n162 Kelly, at least if I look at pre-1900 and post-1900. I have both in my collection for my sets, but these both were cards I had to get initially, in my mind, to even start those sets. They're both iconic in my mind. |
