Default Thurman Munson signed Yankees Pennant

It’s not every day you get to add a Thurman Munson signed pennant to your collection.

If you’re so inclined, an Oxyclean bath would brighten up the other Yankees and the Reds.

Just put a scoop in a couple inches of hot bath water.

I don’t know if the Yankees was originally gray. My guess would be no, but I can’t say for sure. That said, I think (won’t swear) that it would be fine in Oxyclean. Unlike bleach, Oxyclean is more of a cleaner than a bleacher.

It works very well John. I can vouch for this personally.

Rob is 'DA-MAN' when it comes to pennants.

Cheers and congrats.

I assume this is a given, but such a cleaning does not negatively impact the signatures on it?

To the OP, beautiful Munson signature!

I have a number of pennants that I need to clean as well. Is there any scrubbing or anything required or does the oxy clean just remove dirt from the soaking?

To the OP, beautiful Munson signature!
I assume also that the OP is not considering cleaning the Munson Pennant , but rather just the other Yankees pennant. Such a soaking or cleaning would surely ruin the signatures.

No scrubbing. Oxyclean works great on newer (stiff, post 1970s) pennants. Bleach can work wonders on the older, white, soft felt pennants but it can also ruin them (I know ). This has been discussed extensively in the “Hey, pennant guys” thread, with many before and after pics. The trick is finding those posts among the 1800+.

I'm not "DA-MAN'....although I might aspire to be.

I discussed Oxyclean (with pictures) on page 111 of "Hey, pennant guys" and I'm sure on many other pages.

Here's a bleach success. The same pennant with red graphics was a disaster.

I'm very late to the party, but you're killing us!!
It's spelled "Thurman," with an 'a.'

I know that... when I drafted it up, for some reason, it auto-corrected to Thurmon. Don't ask me why, lol.

But I can't edit the title, so Thurmon lives on in the forum.

Go to your first original post in this thread and click the edit button. The next screen pops up and should look like this. I’ve circled the “go advanced” tab.
