Took a chance on it being authentic. I almost never buy raw.

Any quick thoughts from anyone?

Default Came this morning

Love the card, but loved the note that came with it even more.

Best regards,

Joe

Technically late April, but I am just getting around to posting scans instead of the terrible cellphone pics I had posted...

Hell of a start already. That note is priceless; you must keep it with the card (provenance).

These were bought in April, but should arrive this month/any day, so they'll be May pickups for purposes of this thread

Ryan, 👍....

This Murphy (BL460) and a few others came from net54 member Chris, (usernamealreadytaken) awesome guy to deal with, thank you.
I already own the Murphy (Drum), so I guess I’m going to complete the back run.

AWESOME Chuck!! That BL 460 is a beast. You beat me, and Jamie, and Mike and many others to that card and I am glad it was you who drew first. Enjoy that sucker (and now I know why your were selling so many nice cards on ebay )

Agreed with everyone else, great BL 460 - congrats. Happy to pick these two up as types for postcard collection. No idea if there is supposed to be any premium on them but love the overprint on the Rose Company.

Ronnie- I used to also own the "rat bitten" Murphy BL460. Wasn't pretty...but it was rare.

Hey Chuck, this is exactly how I began my Street back run. I owned the BL 460, then I bought the Drum from Mike. After that it was pretty easy, although the Lenox and Piedmont 42 took some time. And I still don't have the Hindu Red.

Let us know how the back run progresses.

After I bought the Konetchy BL 460 in REA, I've since acquired 6 other backs of that pose...it's quite addicting.

Waiting for me when I got home from vacation.

I rarely get pre-war stuff, so I was very excited to put this one in the Maine collection.

I think you can tell by the photo background where I got it!!!

Thank you guys for the kind words, much appreciated. I enjoy seeing everyone’s new pick ups and feeling the excitement in their writings/postings. For me, the search is on for my next card, lol.

Game in Action rppc.I think the action shot is neat.

according to the description. .

"This is an original, vintage photo postcard showing the famous Cuban HOF and negro league's Star, BASILIO "EL BRUJO" ROSELL, scoring, with catcher ANGEL FLEITAS ready to tag, while playing for the "Mexico BBC & Monterrey BBC, respectively, during the 1945 season in Mexico City. "

I'm all over the place. (The latter two are signed, but I haven't taken a picture of the Shepard Fairey/Chuck D print yet so this is just the generic image as it looked pre-signatures.)

This puts me at a completely graded set minus the Big 4. I had finished it sans the Demmitt and O'Hara years ago (lucky for me) and recently added the Demmitt via auction and this O'Hara from B/S/T. I'm leaving the door open on a Magie but after that it's Powerball or bust.
