I got this in REA. It's the only back that I was missing, other that the Cobb that I will never own. I also have 522 fronts, and will never get a Wagner or Doyle Nat'l. So I guess I've pushed the T206 set as far as I can. But there's always back runs and subsets and unrelated cards that I want.

Still, it really feels good to "finish" the T206.

Didn't expect to win this one, and may have to flip it, because it's probably too nice for me:

This is also a particularly interesting card in that, although identified as Hap Felsch, the image on the card is actually that of Ray Demmitt

Picked up DRUM #10, thanks to Rob (RCMckenzie) who was a total class act. The Magie came from Eric (Iowadoc77), another smooth transaction with another super classy guy.

Sean- congrats! I gave the Brown OM a small run early on, but let it go. Glad you got it!

(PS- a very close friend of mine got the Cobb/Cobb, so if you ever want to try to complete the back run, I think he'd sell in a few years).

Chuck- great stuff!

That is a great card Dave. It's funny how there are several Black Sox players on cards which show other people, i.e. the Buck Weaver card which shows Joe Tinker. One has to wonder what the price would be on a Joe Jackson listed card which featured another player, given how few Jackson cards there are in the different sets.

Nice Tiernan. The CF designation was only on his scarcer 1888 cards.

Thanks. I've got a pose run of his cards and a few of both 1887 and 1889 on the same pose but this was the first CF card I've seen for sale.

New Poses: As can be seen from the Old Judge cabinet (new pose 457-7) the ball in the original photo taken of Tiernan was quite high above Tiernan. Goodwin "moved it down" to create the pose in the N172 (457-2), and "moved it down" still further to accommodate the Gypsy Queen banner in new pose 457-8.

Gee, thanks... I will guess/hope that 7 and 8 have not (yet) been seen on his N172 cards. Otherwise, back to the drawing board

Thanks for the kind words, Chuck. Good luck with your T206 Drum run.

Here are a couple of new additions. People ask, how do you know what Old Judge cards to buy? I try to buy the ones that I have not seen come up for sale.

Picked this up at the Shriners show this past weekend from Baggers. Excellent top-notch company who was great to deal with. The card in person isn't as fuzzy. Photo musta gotten tweaked a bit. Its an Old Judge of Joe Hornung graded SGC 4

I picked up my first Bregstone PC in the recent REA Auction. Always wanted one of these. Sadly, I'm guessing the numerous Bregstone's in the auction came from Brian Campf's (SportingOregon's) estate. He had quite a collection of these rare cards (amongst many others). It'll be interesting to see if somebody breaks up the 20 lot group and the 17 lot group that were in the auction.

I really miss Brian's contributions here. I never met him in person, but he seemed like a nice guy here, always a positive attitude or a helping hand. His collection was awesome, I wish his heirs had maintained his website. I was just thinking of him the other day.

Agreed. He has been missed. He helped get me started on my Helmar Stamps collection. He and I talked on the phone for quite some time to discuss the set (and other projects) back in 2013. I assume we'll see his complete set of Helmar Stamps (including actresses) and many other sets he dabbled in during the upcoming REA auctions. His postcard collection is/was simply outstanding! He left us way too soon and it scares me that he died at my current age. Not cool!

The Helmar baseball and actress sets were in the latest REA auction. Hoped you'd won the baseball to complete your set.

Tim posted this in his cut art thread, but I'm happy to post it here as my pickup this month.

Green Cobbs may be hot, but the bat off has the most stunning background, and Tim really nailed Cobb's eyes on this one!
