Site to Manage Collections
Hello,
Does anyone know of a website where you can manage your collections? I have an Access Database with all my stuff in there with photos, but would love a website for ease of use. Any thoughts? |

CollectorSystems.com offers phenomenal collection management services. I would be lost without it.

Here is a page from a gallery I created in CollectorSystems.com. I can’t say enough about this company or its staff, which is always there to help.
CollectorSystems would be the perfect acquisition or licensing deal for Heritage. |

I use Volusion. It also doubles as a store for items I'm open to selling. Very flexible as far as design.

It looks to me like it is $85 per month. IMO...very expensive unless you are running a small to mid size business. Jeff |

Worth it, in my opinion, if your collection is insured. It’s a great way to be able to document what is there for your carrier. My collection is also relatively large at about 2,000 pieces, so I rely on it to stay organized. But I agree that it’s not for everyone.

Maybe I misspoke about what I am looking for. I am not a seller, but instead want a nice way to store and manage my collection, possibly share.

Just to be clear, collectorsystems.com is not for sellers. It is for managing a collection and sharing your collection with others through public and private galleries. Some museums also use it to manage their collections.

Is there something similar to CollectorSystems for us low end collectors at a much lower monthly cost ?

I'm not sure what managing a collection means, but collectorfocus lets you put titles and pictures of everything on the site, and organize it however you wish, for free.

Does anyone have an opinion or thought as to whether there is a market for an online “gallery” service with perhaps an e-commerce option at around $10/month (maybe ~$25/mo with the e-commerce option)?
I’m recently laid off and only working part-time and thinking about a possible project. |

You may like Imgur, which allows you to upload multiple images in your own separate albums, but it isn't specifically made for cards.

Photobucket was a some what popular free site for years but started charging way to much - they are now back down to a $4.03/month fee for 2g storage.

I manage to get along nicely with collectorfocus. Bookkeeping is facilitated by using my 17 spreadsheet proprietary system. When using the above, it helps to mever nake mistakes.

I use Imageevent and pay $65 a year for unlimited storage. The site is very clean and there are no external ads.

I used to use photobucket until they went nuts wanting to charge people $400 a year for 3rd party hosting. Since then I moved most of my photos over to Flickr.
Flickr allows for bulk uploading and lots of tags and a description on each photo. It has privacy settings that are customizable, so you control what is seen and by whom. It also has a nice look to it. And it is free. The only downside that I see is that it does not allow you to create links to multiple photos at one time. All this means is that it takes longer to post multiple photos to forums and such. https://www.flickr.com/photos/96571220@N08/albums

I agree Imageevent is awesome. I keep looking for something that's better, but I haven't found it yet. I've never considered Photobucket because it's layout is so unattractive, and pop-up ads are a non-starter. I can't figure how such a system could be worth $85 per month. Here's my site on Imageevent: http://imageevent.com/ccmcnutt |

I was actually able to load up a good bit of my collection on CollectorFocus over the weekend. Easy to categorize and add. I like it.
