Default Things seem to be improving at PSA

Definitely moving quicker than the October sub.

I may end up having to pay up on my bet. We will see. Marlins are done beating up on the Dodgers. Now they have to play against professional teams.

Marlins Magic Number 112

At least the purple star will give some positive reinforcement at that moment when you get the gut punch on that one card that didn't deserve a low ball!

Since I’m waiting for cards in this submission I feel I win either way. I would prefer to get my cards back sooner rather than later. So I’m secretly hoping to lose this wager.

But, while this remains up in the air, with the last NL game having been played for the week:

11 business days have passed
Marlins Magic Number is 91

Default Marlins are killing me!!!

I should have gone with the Orioles I guess. Their Magic Number is 67.

Sub is at business day 21.
Marlins Magic Number is at 82.

We should see the big boy sub soon. Maybe?

Don’t worry, Jeter is hosting a fire sale this month. Everything of value must go before July 31st. No reasonable offer refused.

Is bulk poppage pending? Two cards I submitted were ZERO POPS and today they showed up in the pop report. Coincidence?

If so, that would be cool. I had predicted 4th of July, which is very close.

Edit: checked one of my cards, and the pop didn't change. Two originally, still 2. That is, unless they mislabeled it. PSA has a habit of doing mechanical errors even if you give them all the information.

My cards were tall boys which used to be graded separately due to a different encapsulating machine. It’s possible the tall boys are done but the standard size are not

Not to hijack this thread, I sent an submission for the February Collectors Club Special for Prewar. It was a 25 card submission that was received by PSA on March 5th. Logged on April 11th. It's been 61 business days since then, and the order still has not popped.

Edit: I sent a CC Renewal 15 card special in the same package, and that order popped on May 1st.

It's OK Gary.....I don't mind.....you are giving relevant info about YOUR order. Kinda like sharing comps on houses that sell in the same neighborhood. I have heard some bragging about how fast their subs have popped and others lamenting the fact at how slow they are. There appears to be no rhyme or reason. Honestly, I would be shocked if a big 400+ card order WAS NOT late!

I agree it’s too soon. But I find it to be an odd coincidence that two of the cards sBut blotted which were ZERO POP cards in the PSA pop report now show up. I suppose somebody else could have submitted the same T222 actress/athlete cards. But that seems like a long shot. Especially since no others appeared last week.

I’m prepared to wait another 4-6 months on these. But scratch my head at the pop report changes.

Monday is day 42 for the group bulk sub.
Marlins Magic Number heading into the all star break is 53. Much better than I expected. Certainly better than the Orioles who are at 36. PSA now gets 4 days to work on this sub while most of the marlins sit at home.

Bulk sub is at 47 days
Marlins took advantage of the all star break and only saw their magic number fall to 51.

The bulk sub is UNDER it's allotted time (65 days). The "big boy" sub is OVER it's allotted time (30 days).

Agreed.......I have long stopped trying to figure out any rhyme nor reason as to when things will pop. Still doesn't keep me from checking everyday. But it's pointless.

If the M116's are the ones I submitted, I am thrilled to death. I always wondered if they were maybe repos because of condition.

Default Thrilled

I’m very pleased with my T216 and T222’s. The Kerrigan is one of only three known examples. I’m sure there are more. A year ago an example sold for $1800 BIN on eBay. Two more have been graded since.

Default Marlins magic number

If I’m doing the math right the big boy sub popped on day 51 (stated 30 day turn).

Monday is day 52 for the bulk sub
Marlins magic number is at 44 at the start of play Monday. Marlins get a bit of a break this week because both Atlanta and Philly have struggled and Miami is now closer to the division lead than the second wild card slot.

FWIW Baltimore’s magic number is 27. Right around the over under for the number of prospects they will acquire this month as they trade everything of value (ie NOT Chris Davis, Mark Trumbo, Alex Cobb, Darrin O’Day or Andrew Cashner).

Default Day 57?

I think PSA says the National is a week they are shut down. So Monday is either day 52 or day 57. Let’s call it 57.

Marlins had a rough week. Magic Number is down to 34. Still better than the Orioles who are down to 18. Pathetic.

Default Day 62

A bit late reporting this week. But at the star of play today the Marlins Magic Number has fallen to 27. And assuming all of National Week counts as working days today was day 62.

Even though there were people working National week, I don't think it counts towards the business days.

I expected an update on the Marlins’ playoff hopes after the fiasco in Atlanta last night. According to cbssports, their elimination # stands at 20.

Updates are on Monday’s. Until the magic number drops to single digits. Then probably a count down to 0.

If poppage is early that week you may win the wager. But it’s getting close.

Today is day 67 (or 62 if you don’t count National Week.

Marlins stopped the bleeding a bit over the weekend. Magic Number is currently 19.

FYI, the Orioles Magic Number is down to 2. They could become the first team mathematically eliminated in 2018 as soon as tonight.

Default Day 67 (or 62 depending on whether you count National Week)

Monday is day 67. Wondo predicted poppage this week so let’s see.

Marlins had a bit of a rough week. Magic Number is down to 11 so mathematical elimination is possible over the Labor Day weekend. Most likely their fate lingers into next week but the end is clearly in sight for the Fish. However their fate has been better than both the Orioles and Royals who are already eliminated before the rosters expand.

Getting close one way or the other here.

Default Day 72 (or 67) for the bulk sub

I know Monday is a holiday but elimination is imminent. Marlins are running out of time quickly. Officially their magic number now stands at 4. But digging deeper it’s 2 given the number of games left to be played between Philadelphia and Atlanta and the games left in the NL west between Colorado, Arizona and LA. So, Labor Day could be the final nail in the coffin for the Marlins.
