Default Gauging Interest for PSA piggybacking specials GRADES POPPED! Submitters be patient!

OK...I'm sure some of you are sick of PSA. They are slow. Take forever tog rade your cards. Yadda yadda. I still like them solely because of the resale value. That being said,.....

Special #1 - Cards valued over $100 but under $500. $17 per card. 10 card Minimum. I only have 2. I'm looking for 8 more. These are for higher valued cards, but not too high. I can give references.

Special #2 - Bulk $7 per card. No age limit. Must be standard or tall boys (no T3's). To get the special, we need 100 cards. I have 50 myself. So looking a few others.

That's it. Those that subbed with me before know the deal. If you can excuse all the crap going on, we might can make this work again. Let me know.

Hi, Bobby,

I think I have about 10 cards for the regular and 3 cards for the premium service (need to confirm this), but was just going to inquire about a grading submission. I'm in.

Thanks,
NJ

For those that have subbed with me before...the prices are what PSA charges plus $1 per card to cover shipping to and from California. Include a slip of paper that states

#1) What the card is and the value you assign to it. This is what PSA pays you back should they damage the card.

#2) You real name and your return shipping address

#3) Your Net54 handle....that is how I contact you during the process

#4) You CAN include payment if you like.....if not, you can paypal me upon receipt of the cards.

The cards should be in CS1's....if not, I can supply you with some, but they are about a .25 each....they are the safest way to transport cards.

Deadline is April 23rd. The bulk special obviously has no deadline, but the expensive card special does....so if that happens, that needs to be by the end of the month.

PS - Once the cards are complete, you are responsible for shipping back to you. The price varies, depending on the weight of the slabs, whether I can go First Class or it has to go Priority, and if you need extra insurance on the cards. A lot of people have subbed with me...it's pretty painless....

Not for bulk...the bulk can be ANY years!! I'm tired of wating for PSA to have a POST 1956 special...the bulk sub eliminates us having to wait for one.

They can be cards that came signed (think shiny upper deck stuff where they signed on the card)....however, if the card didn't NORMALLY come signed (think 1954 Hank Aaron rookie, 1952 Topps, etc), then they can't be sent in.

I am curious since you answered this. How does someone send cards like the Aaron rookie signed then? Must be a $20 submission minimum cost?

Thank you

The Aaron rookie would have to fall under the PSA/DNA form...it's handled differently than just grading cards. They would grade the card (if desired) and then grade the autograph (if desired). Or just authenticate one only (or both)...make sense?

100%

I've done 3 submissions with Bobby and the first 2 completed with the third one still in process. Aside from PSA tardiness, all has been smooth and easy.....and Bobby does a great job managing these adventures.

Kudos to him, and no worries from me.

It does thank you. One more follow up. I see a few options. What is recommended? Auto and sig graded, one or other? Is only a 9 or 10 grade card a good option for both auto and card to grade, and authentic and auto grade for most other lower grade cards? I am sure each case is unique, but what is the standard.

There is no standard...it's all about personal preference. Some people swear by authenticating only....if it's newer stuff, I would probably just have the card authentic and a grade on the auto only. But it's 100% personal preference.

Hey Bobby,

(BTW, let me jump on the Bobby train for a moment. I was a part of his bulk submission last fall and he was unbelievably organized and on top of everything. He answered all questions/concerns in a straightforward manner--in other words, no BS-- and the whole process went as smoothly as possible. He truly goes waaaaaaay out of his way to help all of us out and make these efforts successful. I big-time tip my hat to him.)

Can you give us a little statement about value with regards to the $17 special? As you said, it's about how much PSA would refund you if they damage your cards, but how far can that be stretched? Maybe try to sum it up as clearly as possible from your perspective? I am certain that there are quite a few people like me out there who are confused by the parameters of the deal. For instance, if someone has a Mantle card that would clearly be 'worth' more than $500 after it is graded, could they still submit it and write down the value as $499? I guess the real question here is, how far can one go in sort of trying to buck the system?

And a random question about two cards: Would a 1963 Fleer Checklist and a 1967 Topps #128, Ed Spiezio with part of his name missing on front, fit into the cheaper category, or would they have to be submitted at the $17 level? There always seems to be a lot of gray area with these types of things.

Thanks!!

Darren...you can fudge a little....but do you REALLY want to be reimbursed "only" $500 if you have a $3,000 Mantle?? My best advice is to be realistic in what it is worth....For example..I'm submitting a Rose rookie. It might be worth $600....but DEFINITELY worth $500....I'm submitting it at $500. You can fudge, but I would only fudge what you are comfortable with. No $3,000 Mantles....a $600 or $700 is probably OK. As far as the last two, I'm not familiar with them, but I wouldn't think either one is worth more than $100, so they can go bulk.

Also curious. I have I think 2 SGCs and 2 BVGs that would need to be crossed over but are under 100 bucks each.

PS - I also just read the fine print, and the autograph cards ARE NOT allowed in the bulk special. Think pretty much standard cards. We don't want this sub taking 6 months like the last one due to so many oddball issues.

Pack pulled autograph cards are permitted under the bulk system, as long as they are from 1998-present. Pre-1998 and "in person" or "through the mail" autographed cards have to be submitted through PSA/DNA and are not eligible for bulk grading.
If you submit an auto card from Topps or UD or whatever, they will only grade the card, not both the card and auto.

Put me in for at least 20 at the bulk level.

Direct from PSA website...

BULK SERVICES **
Declared value is under $100 (per card). Excludes autograph dual service cards and supersized cards.

This tells me no autographed cards.

Default Let’s do it again

I’m in for about 20 at the bulk level and 5 at the high dollar level. I’ll start pulling now.

I have a handful of mechanical labeling errors. Can I have you send those in for free reholdering at the same time?

The Dual Service is PSA/DNA Dual Auto and Grade service. Card grading by PSA of pack-pulled manufacturer autos is permitted.

I have 4 1911 Sporting Life M116 cards that I have wondered about for years. I bought them long before all the stuff on repros came out and have always wondered. Would theses be acceptable to add to your piggyback?

Yes...those are perfect..bear in mind, if they are REPROS, they will get charged for grading and will be returned with a sticker saying the reason why they were rejected.

I have a couple of questions

1) are 1955 Double Headers included

2) How long are we talking about waiting these days?

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with double headers. What is the size? They can't be bigger than 3 1/2 x 5 1/6.....if they are smaller than that, they can go.

As far as how long?? I don't work for PSA...I cant speak for them. For a frame of reference, the last sub took around 5 months. Hell, they are taking over a month just to log cards, and the clock doesn't start until they log them in. Patience is a must in dealing with these guys. They have gotten painstakingly slow.

1955 Topps Doubleheader’s fit in the Tallboy case. So they would be OK

Great, I would expect nothing less and this will allow me to know for sure. I will get them out to you in the AM but don't know what to do about value? Should I try and find a value (I don't have any current guides) to send along? I also am not sure what the price would be? I can Paypal you if you like now.

payPal upon receipt is preferred so I can keep up with what's what...when I get it in advance it's harder to keep up with....as for value, assign it what you think it is worth if it is real. Use Ebay completed listings as a guide (ie, PSA 3, SGC 3, etc)
