He was specifically asking about 1952 Gray Backs, not all the other mechanical errors that PSA puts together. That is what your comment seemed to convey.

Fair enough. I was being a grumpy old man and deleted it.

I find Billy Martin is about as tough to find as Pete Reiser with these mysterious gray backs.

I need 28 more of these gray backs to complete my 1952 TOPPS master set.

During the 1980's, when I completed my basic 407-card 1952 TOPPS (52T) set, I searched for these "mysterious" mid-series gray backs.
Back then, they were selling for the price of a common 52T low # card. Billy Martin was about $75. And, since I was a Billy Martin fan, I
acquired 2 of his gray backs.
In recent years, I was offered "big bucks" for these cards. I sold the lower condition card, and kept the Martin shown here.

Guy on the PSA board bought one and didn't even know what a gray back is. Expect it on the market soon:

I dont think it's a gray back. The cream backs have different varieties as well

What Ted said... my opinion too.

Martin gray back recently sold in an ebay lot - along with 13 other gray back variations - none advertised as grays. Didn't stop folks from finding it and bidding well above my bidding max.

This I guess is where money seperates the men from the boys in terms of variations. It would be a very cold day in hell before I ever paid anywhere near $1,000 for a Billy Martin or Pete Reiser card...
