I hope he ends up rotting in jail. That is certainly where he belongs and what he deserves. There has been no bigger criminal in our hobby, imo.

Could somebody explain what Nash did, for those of us who don't know the backstory? Or provide a link?

Easy for me to say because I don't do memorabilia, but I would rank him well behind the major card doctors, and now the Mexican guy with the fake (or resealed) slabs.

Of much less importance than the thorough and great documentation Leon provided above, but fascinating none-the-less:
If Peter "liked" someone in the hobby who was convicted or accused of wrong-doing, he wouldn't cover the story in his Hauls-of-Shame blogs. If you were not one of "Peter's friends", he would twist facts, mislead and slam those he choose to in those same blogs. Last edited by sports-rings; 01-09-2017 at 11:04 AM. |

Don't know the guy personally and have no information as to what he did or didn't do to anyone, but all this squares with one thing I've seen over and over in my life . . . often times the sanctimonious types who make a living outing other people's transgressions or weaknesses are doing what they do simply to divert attention from their own (usually bigger) cons and scams.

[QUOTE=Leon;1618712] About a third of the stuff is actually true, a third of it is grossly exaggerated and a third of it is total fabrication. Trying to figure out which was which was the difficult part, I guess.

If kosher, would it be permissible to seek recommendations of non-partisan political blogs. I would enjoy discussing some issues in a board that shares characteristics with this one. Bright, educated comments, with name shown, no trolls or ad hominem attacks. If ok by Leon, maybe some of you who also talk politics on non-partisan boards could give me a lead (privately if necessary).
If I can stray further O-T: Go Tide. My college roommate (1966) was from Selma, Alabama. Being a native of Virginia myself, I found it more enjoyable to root for the Tide. Been a fun ride for 50 years. |

Honorable John M. Galasso. Gotta wonder if he is any relation to Renata.

Tried the link as seen in the OP and the website comes up for me as well. Perhaps the OP originally tried 'haul' instead of 'hauls' when entering in the website address.

1- You're post is unintelligible; 2- I'm confident that if I could understand it, I would disagree with you; 3- No politics are discussed on this board; and 4- We're serious about that rule that if you give an opinion about someone, your full name must be included in your post. Yes, but perhaps they are more likeable and have managed to seduce the very people they are defrauding.

I have no support for Peter Nash but Third Base was hugely influential. MC Serch produced Illmatic, the best hip hop album of all time.
Not to get off topic, but it's "3rd Bass". And yes they were completely legit and had some street cred and Illmatic was/is highly influential. MC Serch "founded" Nas which he debuted on "Back to the Grill Again". Just listened to it yesterday. "My rhymes is hotter than a prostitute with gonorrhea" hahaha |

The Nashs own a beautiful piece of lakefront property on the lake north of Cooperstown. A Mercedes has been sitting rotting in the driveway for years. The house and garage probably need to be torn down but it is still a very valuable piece of property that his creditors, bank, Rob Lifson, Fraser etc. have been fighting to get sold. Sale has been stalled by bankruptcy filings and other legal manuvering. I think the tax liens held up the most recent auction attempt last summer. All I can say is that if you mention Peter's name to any of the Cooperstown locals, they either roll their eyes or cringe.
