Saw this one. That was a nice pick up. Whoever got the Honus got a nice one too. I was looking at both for resale.

Clearly he is talking about the Jackie Robinson you posted not once but twice while trying to sell on eBay. That is the one he copied you on.

Not the Ruth you have posted twice as well. As you well know but are trying to spin it for whatever reason.

It would be nice if you didn't use this place to sell items since you are banned from the bst. Yet, Leon continues to let you do it and half(being conservative) your pictures disappear within a couple weeks.

Pethaps you can upload pictures so you can simply delete when you dump the items so it doesn't pollute threads with that empty box? It's pretty simple to do.
Good pickup on the Jackie Robinson used for the 1950 bowman card btw. It's a great photo.

Some nice artifacts that span the period of 1947-1957. Most excited about the Ebbets Field ushers cap.

Default Ebbets Field Stadia

Thanks guys,

If you collect or follow vintage stadia, this is a pretty big deal or at least it is for me. I have records of three (3) Brooklyn Dodger ushers caps. It makes for an incredible pairing with my c1947-1953 Ebbets Field cap (pictured here as well). The third or other cap I know of (c1954-1957 style) resides in private collection that I don't think will ever be made available.

Do you have any info or pictures of (if) similar hats from the Polo Grounds?

Have never seen a Polo Grounds cap in any collection or hobby offering. These are at the top of my research list and will let you know if I turn up anything..

I didn't realize Dave had a book, so I checked Amazon. Looks good! Question: does the book only cover uniforms or does it include Dave's amazing "stadia" as well?

Book is focused on uniforms. As far as "stadia", I have already started the working outline for the ballpark book with a projected publication date of 2022.

Dave,

A little off topic, but are your related to Jeff Grob the landscape architect? Most people would know him as the drummer of Looking Glass ('Brandy', "Jimmy Loves Mary Anne?) and under the pseudonym Joe X. Dube as the drummer for Starz ('Cherry Baby")

Default HOF Phil Niekro no-hit ticket stub

After 43 years of searching, I'm very happy to finally find a ticket stub to HOF'er Phil Neikro's 9-0 no-hitter vs. the Padres on 8/5/73.
"Knucksie" struck out 4 and walked 3 in his pitching gem.

Not only was this ticket a bastard to find, the USPS added to my agony by losing my package for 43 days on it's trip from the west coast.
Finding this ticket now brings my collection to a grand total of 203 tickets to different no-hit games dating back to 1901. Phil Niekro was the last HOF'er no-hit ticket that I needed to complete my run from 1940 forward.

While not related to Dave, I was thrilled to see a Joe X Dube reference...

Never expected to see that here (or anywhere else, for that matter). Back in the '70s, my friends and I always voted Starz as the best band never to "make it big". We couldn't understand why they fell short... Many great tunes, but perhaps a lack of support from their record label was to blame.

Getting back on topic.... Amazing pickups by Dave, Scott and Bob.... WOW!

Great pick up Bob. Sold for less than I expected. I'm shocked by some of the prices realized. Just incredible!

I recently picked up this scoresheet from a Harry Wright scorebook from 1881. One side shows the lineup for Worcester for a 7/25/1881 game against Boston and the second side shows Boston's line up for the 7/26/1881 game against Worcester. Harry Wright scored the games and has initialed the sheet.
