Awesome, Ryan! Can't wait to see your new additions! I picked up 5 recently, all HOFers, including a 68 Torre. I'll post pics soon.

Thanks! I actually picked up the '68 Torre recently as well. I'll post pictures of all 3 once I get the other two.

I look forward to seeing your pics!

My primary collecting focus is collecting every Yaz card I can get my hands on and a secondary project of mine is 1964 and 68 Venezuelans. Here are the 5 latest Venies I've picked up. Excited about all of them, but especially the first one with Yaz

I misspoke when I said earlier they were all HOFers. I forgot one was Lonborg. Still a good one for my 68 Venie Red Sox team set. Makes 7 for that team set, 6 of which will soon reside in PSA slabs.

Oh, for a second I thought you might have got it from enigma off of ebay. I was looking to get the card from him but he sold it to someone else, thought maybe it was you. I turned around and spent $7 more getting it from someone else. Did you get them from a private seller or somewhere else online?

Got a couple higher grade ones handy. No sign of glue.

They weren't glued into albums. The thought is that they may have been issued with albums so that they could be glued in. I'd say that the vast majority of mine don't have any glue damage. I find the glue issue more prevalant on the 64s and 66s than I do on the earlier issues. It wouldn't surprise me if they were issued in a different manner.

Hi everyone....I just joined so I am a newbie here. I collect Venezuelans as well....right now the 1960 set....I have a complete set and it was so much fun to put it together. It took me about six years to do it but it was worth it.

Welcome. I'm sure I am not alone in that I'd love to see pictures of the set.

He mentioned something about that. I messaged him also looking to get a package deal, but he said he was currently negotiating a package with another buyer that included that card. I just told him if it fell through to let me know. It's a nice card and enigma is a good seller. I've bought a few cards from him in the past.

Congrats! It's a really good set and it takes a patient collector to go after VZs. Are you collecting other VZ sets?

So, these aren't great, even by VZ standards, but they're mine and I'm happy to have them. I have now completed my '60, '64, and '66 run. I need just two '68s, four 62's, and ten '59s, to complete the entire Braves base set VZ run. I've completely abandoned the '67 set cause I don't think they were made by Topps.

I like your Torre better than mine. I'll keep you in mind if I buy any Venezuelan lots and let you know if they include any Braves.

There was a debate on here not too long ago about its merits and I agree with most on here that it was a VZ company who just took Topps photos and made their own cards. Also, it seems weird that Topps would come out with a '67 set after doing it bi-yearly for the previous 6 years, and then introduced another set in '68. It doesn't add up. And not as important as the other two reasons, I've been watching VZs on eBay for a year now and I've only ever seen one Braves card and that's the Rico Carty, which I already have, and that's only been listed a handful of times. I think if they were made by Topps they'd be more prevalent; or as prevalent as all the other VZs.

Wow! A PSA 6 Venz is like a PSA 11 from regular 62 Topps!

Default 70 Venezuelan album

I purchased a 70 album with 277 of the 300 cards in it. Album is in real bad shape but the cards are real nice. It doesn't have the cover but the person I bought it from has another in his collection so he made me a copy to put with the album. Point being topps or any kind of logo not on the album which doesn't sound like topps. Back to if the 70 set isn't topps then to me the 67 set isn't either. Is there an expert here on venes that can confirm 67's not topps.

Nobody can definitively confirm that they are or aren't Topps, but I don't think they're Topps. There's just too many oddities about the set that I don't trust.

Picked these up recently. Only 12 left to get and I'll have the full '59 through '68 Venezuelan run of Braves base cards.

Wow, Ryan, those 2 PSA cards look a hell of a lot better than their technical grade! I'm guessing the Roach has back damage, but with a front like that, who cares??

Exactly! When it comes to VZs the only thing I care about is that there's no paper loss in the front. I've been collecting VZs for over a year now and one thing is obvious, if you're trying to collect only the ones that are in great shape you'll never complete a set. When I get them I'll post pictures of the back.

Also, I know there are threads about this but does anyone know how to safely crack PSA cases? I actually have a setup for my VZs and I don't need the cases. Double also, once I crack them I should contact PSA and have the cards removed from the pop report, correct?

To crack a PSA case, buy a pair of "snips" at any Home Depot or the like. These are used to cut metal ties around bundles of lumber and they're perfect.

2. Use snips to snap off a healthy chunk of one of the top corners

3. Take the smallest flat head screwdriver you own and slide it into the gap you just created with the snips. Rotate the screwdriver to break the seal in that area, then move down, repeat, and keep going around until the seal is broken all around. Do NOT push in the screwdriver, or you might slip and gouge the surface of the card. Simply insert the tip and rotate it.

Hope this helps. And yes, I always save the labels and mail them to PSA with a note when I've accumulated a few. There are many of us who appreciate your efforts to keep the pop report as close to accurate as possible

Thanks for the help!

I'm definitely all about doing what's best for collectors, so removing them from the pop report is a must do.

This is for anyone out there that has VZ Braves cards and are looking to sell. This is what I need to complete my run...

1959 Topps Venezuelan
104 Del Rice -- Milwaukee Braves
126 Eddie Haas -- Milwaukee Braves
128 Bob Hartman -- Milwaukee Braves
157 Felix Mantilla -- Milwaukee Braves
165 Bill Bruton -- Milwaukee Braves
188 Juan Pizarro -- Milwaukee Braves

1962 Topps Venezuelan
30 Eddie Mathews – Milwaukee Braves
63 Tony Cloninger -- Milwaukee Braves
100 Warren Spahn -- Milwaukee Braves
158 Braves Team -- Milwaukee Braves

1968 Topps Venezuelan
110 Hank Aaron -- Atlanta Braves
221 Braves Team -- Atlanta Braves

As always, condition doesn't matter, just as long as there is no paper loss in the front.

I really like the '64 Venezuelans because the backs are so different (the cartoons are easier to see). Here are the Koufax's with original artwork. Also gotta love the '67 if you're a Koufax collector.

4.5 on that '67 is unreal! Looks way better than a 4.5.

Good question, it's 4/23/21. Not sure if the VZs have the date error, but I'm definitely sure it's a VZ cause where it says it was produced is in Spanish.

Was able to snag a '62 Spahn and Cloninger. They are really beat up, but I can't wait to post pics. Only 11 more to go!

I'm 11 cards short for a complete Braves Venezuelan Topps Base card run. Here's what I've been able to collect so far...
