Yeah, for whatever reason it seems there are no famous anecdotes or quotes about him (or by him), no particularly memorable home runs or moments that defined him, no great controversies or scandals, no records, mediocre nicknames.

My sentiments exactly. "The Beast" and "Double X" are both tremendous.
Here he is during his post-career days. His career was the inspiration for the Jimmy Dugan character in A League Of Their Own, although his attitude was 180 degrees from that of Dugan. Tom C |

i have never seen this pic of jimmy foxx in his cowboy hat.
