Me, too. My first thought was that this was exhibit 1 for supply exceeding demand -- but I'm sure it won't!

Seems the auction houses could save a ton of money and and even more trees by checking who really wants a print catalog vs. simply seeing the items online.

And exactly ZERO signed pre-war cards. A little surprising, given that so many of the recent auctions had one or two, and the sheer volume of cards in these tomes.

Default New Heritage Auction Catalog Arrived Today

The box still unopened, I was telling my wife that this was one of the heaviest catalog's I have received in some time. My almost 6 year daughter in earshot heard this, and didn't want to take my word for it, so she preceded to come over, and then grabbed hold of the box. She struggled a little at first in lifting it, but once she was able to gain some momentum, she preceded to lift it over her head a couple of times. I must add that she is an extremely strong girl for her age!

My mailman is an old craggly guy who huffs and puffs even when delivering a few envelopes. When he hoisted me the Heritage box, I thought that he'd keel over on my porch

You might be able to request one for free. ALso, they send out free catalogs to all bidders who place at least $1000 in bids per year (I think that's the right figure, though I could be off). You don't have to win that much, just place that amount of actual bids. Everyone here posting is getting a free catalog.

Default Heritage Lot #11306:

If any member wins lot 11306 - 1941 Double Play PSA Graded partial set of (43)...

...and is interested in breaking it up, I would be interested in the John (Whitlow) Wyatt card.

Please PM me if you win.

Thanks,
Raymond (Whitlow's cousin)

I tried to get them (can't recall if it was REA, Goodwin or Heritage) to stop sending the monstrosities ... they told me if I stopped receiving the catalog, they'd have to rescind my bidding rights... I didn't question the lunacy of that at the time, but ... that was within the last 12 months or so.

Just as an FYI, Huggins & Scott Auctions (who I work for) gives a $10 credit per auction to "go green" and not receive the printed copy. Here are the details....

Hey, if you not going to save the trees for baseball bats, then why bother.

(just kidding of course, but I still enjoy thumbing through the hard copies)

I'm old fashioned, I prefer the catalogs.

I go thru them over and over again with my morning coffee.

I always end up spending more money when I have the catalog.

Hi Mike,

I can assure you that it was not Heritage that responded regarding rescinding bidding rights just because you requested to stop receiving our catalogs. With all the different areas of collectibles we offer, asking for or to stop getting catalogs happens. If anyone would like to help save trees or is simply fine without one, please email me directly at peterc@ha.com and I’d be happy to take care of it.

As always, if there are any Net54 members that would like to receive a free catalog, then just email me and I'll make sure one is mailed out.

Thank you,

Peter

Got some many catalogs on my bookcase over the last 2 yrs, afraid the shelving is gonna break. Have to sit down and do some 'burning' of sorts.
At first i didnt notice the cover page actually was little images of baseball cards, pretty neat!

I couldn't wait to open the box. Felt like Steve Martin in the "Jerk" when he got the phone book and his name was in it. I felt like running around the house shouting "I'm somebody, my name is in the book"

Actually my name is not in the book but my collection is. After 5 years of building a 58' set (thanks to my fellow board members for helping me) it's proudly displayed for sale. Now all I can do is wait to see if I break even or not.
