Default tougher front back combos

No National for me but did pick these two up from Kevin Mize on the BST. Thanks Kevin.

Someday I WILL get a scanner, but thanks to fellow board member Glynn Parsons for making it possible for me to acquire a 1913-1915 Pinkerton Christy Mathewson at the National. One of just two graded by PSA, and none graded by SGC. Thanks also to Leon for his expert advice as to the likely number in existence (you guys know I like 'em RARE) and avoiding the one graded "authentic" (poor eye appeal that even the scorecard back couldn't make up for in my eyes) in favor of Glynn's much better card!

Plus, purchased a very nice, well-centered 1934 Gold Medal Flour Dizzy Dean (a set issued to commemerate the '34 World Series) in PSA 3. To me, it represents the NL's last 30 game winner in his best season (Dean was 30-7 that year, with a 2.66 ERA, and led the league in strikeouts when there weren't that many of them with, I believe, 195, in a year when the league's ERA was 4.06). Fabulous pitcher before hurting first his toe and then his shoulder when he tried to come back too soon.

Best wishes,

Larry

Only picked up a few things at National, these being the most interesting.

Side note, I really need to work on scanning rather than taking bad phone photos of cards...

Cheers,
Steve
