Jose Jiminez no hitter 1999
All the World Series games played in Arlington including Albert Pujols 3 homer game Game 3 2005 World Series, the one that went forever and ever and ever and ever 1st ever interleague game -- why the schedule maker put that in Arlington is beyond me 1987 All-Star Game, may have been the worst basebal game I ever saw 1995 All-Star Game, just a tad better than the 87 game FInal day of 1993 season in Arlington --- Ryan and Brett's final day in uniform 1990 Game in Arlington when Carlton Fisk established the record for most career homers by a catcher There may be others, but this is a start Last edited by Rich Klein; 04-14-2015 at 08:06 AM. |

Then again, some folks just get lucky!
This Baby’s First Two Baseball Games Were Perfect Games
Has anyone considered that this might just be a magic baby? Meet Bode Dockal. He’s probably magic. Like a wizard or something. He’s now just over one-year-old and he’s attended two major league baseball games. Both were perfect games. There have been a total of 23 perfect games in the history of major league baseball. Each team plays 162 games every year. There are 30 teams. Major League baseball is over 100 years old. The math gets confusing due to league expansion and length of schedule change, but we can jump to the bottom of the page here. There have been 23 perfect games out of 201,870 total games, AND TWO OF THEM HAPPENED THE FIRST TWO TIMES THIS BABY WAS IN THE STANDS. Put it another way. This baby is a goddamn wizard who is making perfect games happen and if my Cleveland Indians don’t give him season tickets for life and I mean tomorrow, I’ll hate them forever. After Paul Dockal (Bode’s dad) took his son to the White Sox/Mariners game on April 21st, he couldn’t believe his luck. After all, Dockal is a life long White Sox fan, and that was the day that Sox starter Phil Humber shocked the world by going from a no-name pitcher to one of 22 men to have ever have a perfect afternoon on the baseball diamond. For that to happen at his son’s first game ever must have felt like insane luck (and a good omen for the future of the Sox). Of course at that point, Dockal didn’t know that his son was magic. He just thought it was good luck. Fast forward to last week. Paul’s brother Pete and Pete’s girlfriend Rosa were in town and they wanted to catch a game at Safeco Field. Seeing as there was a Wednesday afternoon game (which meant Bode could be in bed at a normal hour) and that Mariners ace Felix Hernandez was pitching, it seemed like a no brainer. Bode would get to see his second major league game. And then King Felix threw a perfect game, and everyone looked at Bode and their brains exploded, because how the fuck is that even possible? No word on when Bode will see his third game, but if the Dockal’s let the world know before going, you should buy tickets. Don’t doubt the power of a magic baby, because who knows, he probably has other, eviler powers. I don’t know. I’m not well-versed in magic babies. |

April 6th, 1973, Fenway Park. The first DH ever used. I was sitting down the RF line. I knew it was coming but was still aghast. Still not on board .

Not a baseball game, but I was as this year's Super Bowl in NY/NJ.
Great experience, hope each person on the board gets to go to at least one Super Bowl. I had my name pulled in the random drawing , and was able to buy 2 tickets at face value. Here are my seats: Tony |

Colt 45's first Game
April 10, 1962 Bobby Shantz vs Don Cardwell Colts 11 Cubs 2 Ramon Mejias hit 2 dingers My first time to see Ernie Banks, he hit a homer also Also, I went to one game in 1989 was 9th longest game in major league history. 22 Innings, 7hrs 14 minutes , Astros 5 Dodgers 4 I remember some position players had to pitch, I recall Craig Reynolds pitching an inning. Funny story about that game, sometime about the 19th inning my buddy comes back and says would you go get me a beer they won't serve me anymore. I went up to get him a beer and reason they couldn't serve is because it was after 2:OO AM Never know what your going to see at the old Ballpark Last edited by TheBig6; 07-13-2014 at 09:42 AM. |

Game 7 - 1979 World Series at Memorial Stadium. As a young kid...the first time I ever felt crushed and defeated. All I remember is Willie Stargell's 6th inning home run to put Pittsburgh up 2-1 on my Orioles. First time in my life I heard "silence" in the stadium...I was 8 years old.
"2130" and "2131" 8/21/93 - Nolan Ryan's last start at Camden Yards.

October 1, 2013
Went to the 1994 All-Star game at Three Rivers. That was a great All Star game.
Been to many Pirate playoff games in 90, 91 and 92. But nothing can possibly top the atmosphere of the game I went to on October 1, 2013. This was the playoff game between the Pirates and the Reds. First above .500 team since 1992, when Bonds left. If you remember, this is the game Johnny Cueto pitched. Fans were yelling Cueto, Cueto. He dropped the ball on the mound, the crowd went crazy and Russell Martin put the next pitch in the seats. Unbelievable |

Cal Ripkens 2131 game. The following year was able to get Cal to sign my ticket stub. In the fracas he actually stopped for a few minutes from signing and chatted with me about the game.

Most historic: 1979 All-Star Game at Seattle
Most historic game for me would be the 1979 All-Star Game at Seattle. Dave Parker (among others) was mighty impressive.
Most memorable? That would be my first-ever game at historic Fenway Park: Boston Red Sox vs. Cleveland Indians on Monday, June 24, 1963. Gary Geiger homered with Roman Mejias aboard with two outs, bottom of the 9th, to give the Sox a 7-5 victory! It was a walk-off homer (to deep center field) and pretty exciting! The box score from that game: http://www.baseball-reference.com/bo...96306240.shtml Last edited by SteveMitchell; 07-12-2014 at 07:57 PM. Reason: To correct spelling of Mejias from my childhood pronunciation MEJAS |

I also was present for the 1972 All-Star Game and Hank Aaron's homer landed about 50 feet away from me.
