What to Make of this Auction???

The ball seems to be genuine. Carl Mays' inscription is in his hand, the other autographs look good, and that is a real c. 1918 or so Ruth. |

What to Make of this Auction???

It's a cool piece if a tad overpriced. I suspect that the seller based his asking price on the outrageous prices that several recent HR balls have fetched. He probably sees this as at least as collectible as those balls and has priced it accordingly. |

Nice ball, makes me wish I bought that Fenway park first pitch ball for $85,000. That seems like a heck of a bargain now. |

How do you even price a ball like this? What would be a legitimate value? |
