I can't imagine that anyone would fall for that. Though in this hobby anything is possible. No sane person is bidding $15 million for that.

Diamonds are appraised at 3x the price paid at a jeweler.
I don't believe that $15 million bid was real either. If it was then they should have accepted it and it would have been a Goldin success story. Hype a $3 million item for $36 million in order to get $15 million. |

Reading the Hauls of Shame article seems like the contract may be stolen property and until that is cleared up anyone that buys it may ending up losing it since you can't convey good title to stolen property... To the lawyers on the board, are we correct about that?
End of the day that contract should end up in Cooperstown or the Smithsonian or back with the Dodgers to permanently "lend" it to one institution or the other or rotate it so everyone can enjoy it... I have no idea whether Peter Nash is right, but as a general legal proposition, one cannot convey good title to stolen property because title remains with the original owner.
