Default T206 HOWIE CAMNITZ sells for $10,900...Collecting Opinions

Posted By: DJ

I have been watching this item out of curiousity, certainly not out of interest in adding this to my collection. What does this forum make of a $25 common card selling for $10,900?

According to the T206 Estimator, the worth of this card is $18,750. Of course we all know the Estimator is a 'good guess'.

My feelings is that this is where grading plays an important role in deceiving the public. If this was re-submitted and got a 9, then according to the Estimator, this card would be worth around $1,000. An immediate loss of $17K or $10K in which ever way you want look at it.

Here are my questions to the Board:
1) Was this a deal?
2) What have other 10's sold for and have they been consistent to the Estimator?
3) How much would this card sell for in Mastro or REA?

Thank You,
DJ
