Hey Pete, it's funny that Donlin doesn't have a team listed in the caption. Is he the only one without one?
I know that he had been retired for six or seven years. On his 1914 Type-2 card they wrote ".300 hitter for 7 years" instead of listing a team. Maybe in 1919 they decided that leaving it blank was better. Perhaps the fact that they included him at all so long after he retired is a testament to what a popular player he was back then. |
