Default Why do all the auction houses have auctions at the same time?

It's auction season now (obviously) and just about every major sports auction house seems to have an auction that either just ended, or is currently running. This was following a 2 month period (or so) with very, very few major auctions running.

Is there any logic or rationale to this? For me I know that at times it means I have to prioritize which items I really want since I know that there's no way I can afford all the items that look interesting.

Is there any reason the auction houses do it this way?
