Reposted to the correct thread…

They’re rough, but I was able to pick up 3 cards towards my 1933 DeLong set build, including two HOFs. I’ll be sending them to SGC and if they get 1’s, I’ll be happy.

This group puts me at 4/24 for the build.

Made a most excellent trade with a fellow board member. Needless to say I’m more than happy. 😄

With that being said 1st pre-war pickup in months.

A different pickup for me but a meaningful one. Thank you to the Net54 members who were able to help me find this card.

I've done alot of research on Eddie Grant over the years and I'm sure many of you know his story. Attached is his T205 along with a 77th Division (Statue of Liberty Division) shoulder patch, to which he was assigned after becoming one of the first men to enlist in 1917, two years after his retirement from baseball. Grant made the ultimate sacrifice trying to rescue The Lost Battalion in the Argonne Forest. He was one of three former major leaguers to die in battle in WW1. His story is worth a read.

I'll be visiting the Meuse-Argonne Cemetery in Romagne, France in June for a WW memorial tour, and plan on leaving these two on his headstone.

Default Capt Grant Roll of Honor

Here is Capt Grant's entry in the Roll of Honor from the official history of the division published soon after the war.

Couple of 1st type pickups.

Was looking for a Highlander and a PA centric OJ. Got them both on the recent Hakes Auction.

Default Two in one month. Pretty big month.

Number 408 arrived just in time for the January thread. Thanks to Ed for making Frank available. Only 114 more to find to complete a Howe-stamped set.

I'm not sure that my pickup is worthy of following another Howe Stamp (one of the coolest collections on Net54) but here they are anyway.

In June of 1955 Baseball Magazine began advertising 11 large (about 17 1/2 X 20 inches) posters.

I received the last two I have been looking for today.
