Default Horner Cabinets......

From ya'lls experience, with regards to Carl Horner cabinets, have most players in T206 been found? Do we think that ALL players in T206 had a Horner cabinet made? Do you put a premium on one that is a direct photo of a T206? I only currently have the one large League Composite but am just curious as to the other questions posed......

It couldn't be all, since some players don't have portrait shots. Is Tris Speaker a Horner? Doubt it. But the set is well represented.

Has there ever been a book or publication made that shows Horner's T206 portraits or his portraits in general??

Jeff- I've seen the Speaker Horner. It's a beauty...but no match.

I think most T206 action poses were Paul Thompson photos and a few by other photographers like Van Oyen and Conlon. The T205 face shots were all Paul Thompson I believe. If you look in the Mastro/Legendary auction from about 8 months to a year ago they sold a ton Paul Thompson photos and there were TONS of T206 and T205 poses in there. For the Minor Leaguers, it would be whoever was the photographer in their city I believe. I have owned a few studio portaits in the past that were T206 images of Minor Leaguers and they were all Studios in the towns they played in.

I misread posts all the time.

Rhys- there's no question that there are dozens of Horner poses in the T206 set. A look at the American League composite reveals a ton of matching images, and that doesn't even include the N.L.
