Default Sterling Sports Winners

Won a few items last night, I almost always manage to snag something in Brian's auctions...there is something for everyone. What did everyone else win?

Default I won a few dollars

I'm 0 for 10 in Sterling Auctions in the last three months. On the brighter side, my consignments did get roughly what I expected.

What did I miss in lot #1 (61 T206s)? Went for just under $25/card and I only spotted one $25 card in the bunch...

Definitely a solid price for that group of cards, but there are some tough commons in that group that are worth more than $25, including the Titus, the two Donlins hands at knees, the Merkle portrait, the Reulbach, etc.

I wanted the signed T206 Marquard, but I dropped out of the bidding after it hit $750. Nice card, but ....WOW... that's expensive for a signed Marquard.

Instead I nabbed this SGC 60 Bastian, which has always been one of my favorite Southern Leaguers. I'll take all the SGC 60 Southern Leaguers you want to sell me at $160.

Wow! I need to take my SGC 40 blinders off sometimes and hunt for bargains... that card should have gone for nearly double what you paid!

Nice buy on the Bastian SGC60

THEN, there was the T206 Jimmy Collins in SGC60 that went for $ 462.88 (including the juice)!!!

YIKES! That seems a little high to me?

The $402.50 amount for the Collins was with the juice... but still on the high side.

Nice pickups guys! Seemed like the Old Judge cards went for very reasonable prices. I was the under-bidder on a couple of them.

Mine too! I snagged a couple of modern PSA 8's - '56T Kucks and '57T King.
Both are substantial upgrades to my sets. Brian indeed runs a quality auction.

I picked up a few nice cards. The signed Whitey Ford comic is going in my basement. Psyched to get my first Boston Store card. That was my Grandmother's favorite store but I wish she had been a card collector ...

Rob, I like that '71 Braves booklet. I remember buying the '71 All-Stars version as a kid - still have it.

I picked up a couple last night - very pleased with the prices.

I also liked the $5 shipping for two graded cards. Beats the Clean Sweep charge of $12.75 (plus insurance) for ONE graded card.
